Link Exchange

Hey, I am thinking about contacting other websites in my niche and offering them to exchange links, but when I open the "link exchange" form in their website and they ask to show where I am linking to them in my web. And I don`t know if it is a good idea to link to them first and then contact them and ask to link back cause it may affect my rankings. What do you guys think? Also some of the sites have copyrights from 2008... so it may take forever to hear from them. Thanks for your thoughts.

Perhaps you should try AutomaticBacklinks.com instead... could save you some headaches if you have high PR pages to add

Manually exchanging links can be tedious but very rewarding because those backlinks are so much more valuable than the ones you get off a link farm. I would suggest trying your luck with as many of them as possible. Doesn't matter if they don't reply. And no, adding them first will not affect your ranking.

Why not? My main competitors did it, now they have some PR4-6 index backlinks from the same niche and they rank great.

My site is PR0 (new) and all of my external links are no-f0llow. One PR4 agreed to exchange links but they want me to put my second main keyword as an anchor text. They have like 20 links to other related websites and I have none so is it a wise deal for me? What are your thoughts guys? Thanks a lot.

Yea - Link exchanging is very powerful. I could name some companies that exchange 100-200 PR4 links at a time, all inner pages, from their single word domain names....

Personal experience, contract w a company for 3 months. Brought traffic from 300k to 330k (10%). All large link exchanges.

Do you have some links for my niche I have PM`ed you? I would be really grateful

Also what I am asking here: is it wise to exchange links in my mentioned situation? I.e linking that site with my secondary keyword and giving it a lot of link juice since I am not linking to anyone now?

Sometime link exchange is beneficial but sometimes produce negative results. As it also increases outbound links to other sites.

I also agree with you. Manually exchange is better than automated. But it little bit time consuming.
