Hi, im new to all this IM stuff but i decided that while I was reading around and learning, I would join fiverr and offer to write keyword targetted articles of about 400 words. Ive had 20 views of my gig and 3 orders so its going quite well, even though its small change i am dippin my toe in the water. but then something amazing happened. someone emailed me this:

"Would you be willing to take on longer rewriting assignments? I have several 15-25 page PLR reports that need to be rewritten (for SEO and copyscape) or combined and rewritten. I would provide all reports and the outline to be followed.

If interested, please send your charge for each one and how long you need to do each."

I don't know how to reply and what this work is really worth, any advice that people could give me would be great. i only really want to do a couple of hours max a night cos i am currently studying for my exams. please help! thanks

I'm probably as qualified as anyone to help you with this. I have a long running thread in WF for an article writing service.

First off...congratulations on getting the offer for the extra work. You just discovered what happens when you are a great writer and come across a client that has money and lots of work to be done.

This has happened to me several times. I actually have two big projects I'm working on now because the clients liked my initial work.

Let's discuss the PLR.

There is a perception out there that rewriting PLR material should be charged at a lower price than regular work. Your client might be hoping that you will rewrite a whole bunch of PLR for him on the cheap.

I could be wrong about this, but I have had several clients get upset with me when I don't discount PLR rewriting projects.

This is just my experience, but I find that rewriting PLR takes almost as long as writing a new article.

There are a couple factors that go into figuring out how long the writing is going to take.

Do you know what the topics are? If you know the topics, are you familiar with the topics? If you know nothing about the topics, you might wind up researching the topics, and then you are spending too much time on it.

How good is the writing? Is it written by someone who barely understands English, or is it readable as it is now? If the English is really bad, then you might not understand what the writer is trying to convey.

Here is what you should do. Ask for a small sample of one of the PLR reports. Practice rewriting a few sentences to see how it goes. Estimate how long it is going to take you. Figure out how much you want to make per hour.

Give the guy a quote. Don't low ball him. If you are a good writer, as I suspect that you are, you can probably get a better rate (than Fiverr) for your services.

Thanks for the help jakekelly, much appreciated!

I have emailed them back, asking for a sample and more specifics concerning the actual number of reports (several is a bit vague) and how long the reports are.

I was wondering if it would be a bit cheeky to go to freelancer and slap up a gig with a nice mark up for playing the middle man.

What would you charge for rewriting 5 PLR reports, that are 15 pages long each. Im not looking to make silly amounts an hour, just an average price would be great. thanks again

Let me help you out right now my friend - When someone on fiverr says I have a big project
how much will you charge to do 10 rewites etc I right back and say $5 order my gig 10 times.
IF you start doing jobs for under a fiverr you might as well call it a day and delete you account.
Some people want the whole world for a fiverr dame cheap skates

what does he want $3 for one plr rewrite - the guys mad

The quote varies every time depending on the subject. Personally I have never done PLR rewrites because no one is willing to pay me what I'm worth!

don't do it - if you do you are wasting your time he wants you to offer him $3 per rewrite
though paypal..
the people are cheap skates don't work with them..
BUT if you can rewrite a 500 word plr in under 10mins the maybe

im clearly not going to do 15-25 page rewrite for $3. i wouldnt do a 15-25 page rewrite for $5.

i was thinking something along the lines of $4 per 1000 words or something. that way if theres 500 words on a page i should get about $40 a report? but now i sense this is way to high and they're really not guna pay that. whats average for this kind of work? thats the answer im looking for really. thanks

I forgot to mention too that I've never sold on Fiverr precisely because I charge more than $5 for an article. Once you write the article and get paid, you are only making $4, and that isn't worth my time for 500 words.

Quote him what you want to make, and STAY FIRM. Even $4 for 1000 words sounds pretty low to me. There is no average for this if you are good.

im ok with $4 for 400-500 words. i can bash that out quite quickly, and do a good job of it as well. but i dont know that much about re writing. ive seen on freelancer people do it for as low as 10c/100 words. this seems a little low. id be wanting at least 60c/100 words

Those freelancer sites are meant to drive down prices as much as possible. They favor the clients and NOT the writers. Over there it is all about how cheap someone will do the work. If you are willing to work for really cheap then go right ahead. I can't afford to work that cheap.

yeah looking around, i realise this is low. im guna wait for a sample, see what its like then make an offer. i consider my self good so i will let them know this in the email

If your writing is very good or professionally written, I think you should not take the offer. $4 for 1000 words is very very low. Not worth your time. Alternatively, you should go to textbroker if you are good enough. They pay up to $25 per 500 words.

ok yeah ive realised that $4 is v small amount for 1000 i would probably do $7-$8. i cant use textbroker as im from england

edit: they just got back to me with this

"I am looking for a quote on just one, but if that works out would be back with more of the same. The work count would probably be somewhere around 5,000 for a 20-30 pager or 2500-3000 for a 15-20 pager. They are all PLR I own, but some are very thin and need the meat of two or three combined. Others need to be broken down into separates, etc."
