i work damn hard using only white hat techniques to improve my ecommerce site. Two of my biggest competitors are also doing the same, probably because they have millions at stake. But there is one competitor that's using way too many black hat techniques plus hiring peeps to trash my site and I'm sure others.

Problem is, his techniques are working. He's ranking 1-3 for major keywords, his page rank is going up, mine isnt. I can't afford to do these same things, because with my luck, i'd get caught.

but now he's messing with my site and stealing traffic. any ideas on how to handle that? you can't exactly call up google and yahoo and be a rat, can you? I don't think they care to do anything unless it has to do with paid advertising.

get someone here to run Xrumer on his site for a week...should get him banned right off google (I dont endorse anyone doing this btw andh avent tried myself)

You could also launch a massive PR Storm campaign "in his favor". I've heard of people getting their own sites de-indexed with that tool so you might want to try using it against him.

maybe also send them a threat email and tell them you know what they are doing....they have 12hours to stop and if not you will make sure they end up being sandboxed by google... 1 week or less later and you win

who has the time to market your own site and get revenge by ruining another. We need some internet police! =/ I'm sure my other competitors realize what he's doing and I know they have more resources than I do. Hopefully it will catch up to him.

anyone know how to send an anonymous email to google about this guys crap? My list is growing of the things I see him doing for himself and against me and the other guys.

my suggestion? stop trying to mess with this guy and keep focusing on your own sites. for one thing, you can't be sure that the guy is using bh 'against' you....second, since you don't know much about bh, you have a greater chance getting your a$$ in deep $hit before you get the guy's site banned.

That is too funny. this is the first thing i did after finding Xrumer. unfortunately, they are still ranking well. nex time I'm going to add Matt Cutts blog to the list of urls. I'll let you know how it turns out.

how do you know he is messing with your site, if you have some evidential proof I would get his ass blacklisted through xrumer or any other techniques that will get him desisted. However if you have no proof i would not go that route because karma may strike you back

I can list a bunch of things this site is doing that shouldnt be done. The worst of it was when I noticed 100's of incoming links to my site from universitiy websites. These links all pointed to my site with the same anchor text which was something completely different than my site. After "investigating", breaking down the links, going through these sites, I noticed they were all created through the same program d*tpr*ject. I typed in his name and this name into a search and found he was part of this program.

too much of a coincidence. but it would be difficult to show concrete proof.

no im not good at this stuff that's why I wouldn't. It's just frustrating to see all this honest hard work not paying off and his $hit is. I wanted to hear what you guys had to say. This forum is the best thing i found. good things come to good people? we'll see. Hopefully my rich competitors will kiss his a$$ for me!

Have you ever thought the reason you are not ranking higher is due to a lack of knowledge or that you are missing something. Have you analyzed the competition to determine what they may be doing to rank better?

Just because someone out ranks you does not mean they are the reason you are not ranking. Ratting someone out to the big G, I doubt will get you anywhere

I once had a competitor rat out one of my cloaked sites. Site got banned so I ran an Adware campaign targeting all of his sites and took 75% of his business. He is no longer in business
