freelance sites that generate invoices

hey guys,

I have the following problem. In my country we need to provide invoices for all business transfers.

Now the problem is , some ppl that I outsource to are not able to provide an invoice cause they are not a company.

I was thinking of using a freelance sites that would invoice me , and then in turn handle the payments with the outsourcer.

Or any other option of getting this issue resolved. I need this cause I want the expenses to be deductable.

Any input greatly appreciated.

someone else actually suggested doing that. But it's fraud , and I don't really wonna go that way.

You don't have to be a company to create an invoice. You can google "invoice template" and put in what details you have about the person (you paid them somehow). You could send it to them for their approval and/or have them send it back to you so you have an email trail... You should then have your existing emails back and forth requesting services, showing service being rendered, an invoice requesting money and a bank/paypal statement showing the money leaving... I would think that would pass an audit. You might want to find a local tax guy who knows your law and can tell you if he thinks this would be enough proof for your gov't.

You're right that getting invoiced in the first place would be cleaner/easier. I haven't played around enough with outsourcing to have any ideas for where to go, but I would think it might limit your choices. At least one side of the deal is going to get charged a fee, and buyers/workers might not be all that eager to pay the fee if all everyone's getting out of the deal is an invoice...

You can use Elance if you or the outsourced guy is willing to eat the fees. Elance will invoice you for the outsourced guy and he gets paid by Elance.

I live in Latvia and the laws are more or less the same. Besides Belgian taxes are quite high.. why do you want to pay so much to the govt?

You could use paypal and transfer funds there and then to your bank.

Anyways. In regards to invoices.. as long as the invoicing business is not with the EU economic zone, you have nothing to worry (China, SG, HK, India, Indonesia, Phillipines are the safest bet). But be aware of offshore countries such as BVI which will definitely ask for attention.

Legal or legit, the invoices won't have any affect as long as it's outside the EU and it's not an offshore zone and has a good standing with Belgium/EU.

The real problem comes when you offer/provide service to another EU based countries where VAT comes into play and the respective financial authorities claim VAT's from each other at the end of the financial year.
