1&1 SUCK! Don't Buy From Them!

I'm sorry but I have to blow off some steam.

These mother f**ckers took my money and gave me the shittiest service ever.

Their domains take 4-5 days to point to a certain DNS, and after those 5 days you still have to wait for 2 more days because the domain setting will keep going back to their landing page then back to your DNS , then back to their landing page. While on the other hand godaddy changes DNS properly in 2 hrs max.

Their support takes a long time to respond, and they basically replied with sorry your fucked, our system sucks and we can't help you.

Their billing system is horrible they bill you a month after and you don't know when they are going to with draw the payment. Finally, their user interface is horrible, slow and very irritating.

1&1 suck, please don't buy from them unless you want to get screwed. I finally told them to delete the domain and charge whatever they want because I'll never buy from them again, and guess what that billing system finally worked 2 minutes before they deleted the domain.

people say things about Godaddy.. but when I tried 1and1 it was a weekend, and the service was totally non automatic.. I had to wait until like monday, when I was used to have my domains working in minutes with go daddy.

what I did was in the Sunday I went to godaddy and registered the domain I had registered on 1&1.. they didn't have registered it yet..

I totally agree with you, I had them for over 3 years, but in the past 4 months their service just got worst and worst.
I am moving all my domains away from them to godaddy or some other company.

updating DNS records takes over 72 hours, everything takes forever with them, stay away!!!

I had fake bank pages thrown on my site like 3 years ago.. contacted them and nothing.. even found shells that worked on the shared servers and when I let them know about that they did nothing as well.. Worthless!!!!

Got to stick up for them here, I am a fan, been with them for about 6 years, started with a free account (yes they offered them once), now have a couple of pro hosting accounts, a dedicated server and about 150 domains.

I know there's a lot of bad rep about them, but I have never had any issue - I have used their support on numotous occasions and it's been really good, granted their website is ribbish in terms of speed but hey.

They are complete bastards to transfer domains away from. A few of my clients had annoyingly registered their domains there. 2 hours for a 2 minute task!!!!
