Well figured I would add my scam alert here .

My host CostULessHosting just took down my website and everything .

Let me explain this a little more 3 months ago I bought this website with hosting for about 150.00 (that is alot of money for me) With hosting of about 9.99 a month .

Everything went smooth I offerd my traffic at DP only I advertised no where else sent no emails or anything .

He took down my site yesterday he did not contact me or anything . When I contacted him he said it was because I was bulk spamming . That is an outright LIE ! No way in gods green earth did I bulk email anyone .

I asked him to provide proof or please surrender at least the files to me . I have had no response . I did a whois his telephone number is incorrect . His fax is 1 555555555 like that is correct . His domain is registered at name cheap .

What can I do ? Past couple days I have been making quite a bit of money off of DP selling traffic . Now I am loosing money . I do not have my files . Everything is gone .

My dad said he thinks I was scammed . Said it is possible the guy just had me keep the site just long enough so I could not do a charge back on the 150.00 . I am not sure that is the case but one thing i can say is the dood definately scammed me !!!!

You could still charge back, but it depends on how you paid this person. If you used a visa/mc card or a debit card you can charge back for up to 1 year. If you used paypal I believe it's 180 days, I am not 100% sure though. If you used paypal tied to a visa/mc you can chargeback too. If it was withdrawn from your checking account you're at the mercy of paypal.. Why not try to dispute and see what happens?

If the contact information is invalid for his domain name, email [email protected],[email protected] ,subject: ICANN VIOLATION : Invalid contact information domainame.com ... :)
good luck.

wOw THANKS !!! I used a checking acc tied to a pp account which is why my dad said I might have got scammed.

Ah yea.. Then you're at the mercy of paypal.. Good luck with that. You should still be able to open a dispute, if anything that will get that person's attention..

Thanks once again . I will try to open a dispute . I just have no clue the motivation behind this persons actions . Why would he want to throw away a good residual income for a few dollars?

I just do not get it ? You think he might try to get my domain as well ? Report to namecheap that I am spamming or something?

Namecheap like most registrars won't yank a domain name unless there's a considerable amount of spam complaints.
At least this is a lesson learned; backup your goodies and don't trust cheap hosting.. :)

LOL Lesonned learnt . Also do not trust seller of ready made turnkey sites from ebay .

Hello,

First I would like to add that this person was contacted several times by our support and accounts department as we were more than willing to try and work with this customer however we did not receive a response from the customer. The customers account was closed due to commercial bulk emailing we do not tolerate SPAM mailings of any kind we have other customers that need to be protected and if we allow someone to send SPAM there is a good chance we could be black listed.

It states very clearly in our TOS about SPAM mailings and this customer had to agree to our TOS before using our services.

The customer lost all files associated with there account because we do not keep backups of every customers website again it states very clearly in our TOS about backups. We have been looking into possibly doing daily backups of all customers sites in the near future.

The reason we responded to this forum topic is not to bad mouth this customer but to at least post our side of this issue. We have many customers and we try to make sure all of our customers are happy with our services in this case the customer did not want to reply so there was not much we could do.

Please also note that we do not sell websites on eBay we have a contact that does then they refer the customer to us for hosting services. I suggest you contact the eBay seller regarding the amount you paid for the website.

James G.

I didn't hear any proof in there about how the guy was supposedly spamming. A domain host that does not backup? Didn't know there was such a thing.

Hmm also funny that no proof was giving of spamming .There was never any spamming done .

It is funny maybe if i woulda opted for the lifetime hosting off xxx.xx i would not have been fraudulently accused of spamming .

Well just goes to show you / You get what you pay for . Do not host with these guys .

Anyway I got everything switched over to a new host . On a clean template . So everything should go fine now . Once again do not trust these guys . SCAM!! BAD!!

I am also making some anti - sites so everyone is aware .

They should have researched me just a little more . Picked the wrong dude to scam.

Please also note that we do not sell websites on eBay we have a contact that does then they refer the customer to us for hosting services. I suggest you contact the eBay seller regarding the amount you paid for the website.

also funny that my first payment for the website went to ebay@costulesshosting

So you deleted his files, because he was ACCUSED of spamming? Wow I'd be hella pissed

I am pissed beyond words but started to get over it till he post some ridiculous bullcrap .

I think another thing that might have happened is they have a traffic site like mine and where advertising on DP like me and I started cutting into there biz. Only thing I can think of . Because lord knows I never spammed emails .

It sounds like the reseller got chicken shit when someone sent an email complaint, and never checked anything. Got afraid of lawyers.

Too many small time operators do that, so you need a big company that is not chicken shit when it comes to accusations. When I was a small time host I didn't do that kind of crap, I forced the accusers hand to prove to me something was amiss. And I checked my records, but most, I knew, were false accusations, especially since I was smart enough to govern how many emails a domain could send.

val, just smile about the fact that this forum is index heavily by G, and it seems to get some good indexing. This post will surely come up when someone researches this host. Of course, if they give you a full refund, plus 10% for time and trouble, you could ask the staff to remove the thread.

On a slight side note. When I was a host I had an open registration for my domain. A hosting company with a private whois is a red flagged business to me.

Heh cool this saves me some time and money than . Goo goo goo google .

Filing a dispute with PayPal will do nothing, been there and done that. If it's not an actual physical product they won't care and will end the dispute with nothing done and no resolution.

I've had people argue me on this but it's a fact, happened three times to me even though there was proof I got scammed on two of those.

Never use paypal to pay for a digital product, ever, there's no recourse if you get stabbed in the ass, none.

I always use a cc, that way I can just call up my cc company and complain there's a mysterious charge on my card, I lie through my teeth, they charge it back right away.

Another trick I've used on occasion, and it worked on those products I payed for with paypal, is to congradulate the person on the cheap advertising they just bought in my newsletter, bad advertising that is.

I tell em my subscribers number over 300.000. I make it a real professional sounding email from one of my sites. All three of them refunded my money. Never deal honestly if you've been scammed. Scammers don't play by rules, neither should you.

Nope this is better costulesshosting.com . Look it up on google . BHW has made it so my revenge is being extracted when you look up costulesshosting you see that this thread is one the first things a person sees on the first page of results.

Untill they rectify the situation this is how it will remain . I have already found a new host but during the down time I lost money and credibility . If they offer to set things right than I would most happily let bigones be bigones .

They picked the wrong person to scam . Stupid scammers .

90 Days just happens to be the deadline for leaving feedback on ebay.

Heh well also that kinda figures as well . What a considence huh . Never actually thought about that .

But no worries hopefully everyone that searches will see that they are scamers now .

you could always buy from them again and leave neg feedback with a new account?????
