How long would you wait before re-pushing to the same page?
In other words, if you do a link push to your index page, then do pushes to some inside pages --- at what point would you go back and do another push to your index page?
(If it matters for your answer, I'm particularly concerned about how long I should wait to re-hit the index page, on a site that's less than a month old.)

That is a great question.
We're trying to trick a mathematical formula and most only have minimal understanding of it (
including me).
It is in g's best interests (
on the whole) to make this formula respond (
and give your site credit) to a natural way of backlinking and that should mean spontaneity and without pattern.
Except for the pattern that to be any good your site should grow; in content and popularity.
A popular answer to your question is 2-3 weeks.
This could replicate your site's increasing popularity as you add more content (adding more quality content on a regular basis is possibly the biggest rule to follow - this I have learnt from big hitters -
including Greg - and from my own testing).
I would however recommend much more diversity, do an extra push to your homepage after a week, then another after 5 weeks etc etc. And all the time adding different bits too from different places, more bookmarks, no-follow, low pr, low auth and link with natural linktext too (
5-20% of the time) such as, 'click here', 'try this', and also your domain name.
I personally have never recommend an interesting site to a friend (I do have one) with the link text as the keyword, I've always used, 'here' or, 'click here' etc.
