SEO is driving me crazy i swear.

Its simply not fair.

i keep trying for 3 months to rank for my main keywoord,a gaming guide.

But i simply cannot understand how the guy at number one who has almost 150 links from :

forum profiles

social bookmarks

blog posts

0 PageRank

Can outrank me when i have 700 links from

forum profiles

some high pr direct links from partners

blog posts

articles from major article directories,especially article base and ezine

Web 2.0 from all major sites ,blogger,squidoo,hubpages etc (i make aditional web 2.0 with magic submiter)

Were very similar on a onpage seo score

All this guy has against me is domain age,his domain was created in october 2010,and mine was in january 2011.

Im calling it quits,ive tried and tried and i bumped arround position 5-13 but i simply cannot understand why i cant outrank him,or even the other 12 guys above me.

What am i doing wrong here

I use Traffic Travis for stuff like this. It checks your website then checks out your competitors and gives you a report on how to beat them.

Im using traffic travis too.

It tells me were matched on ON page seo,his ranking page is his homepage wich has the landing page as a homepage.

Im ranking a landing page and my main homepage has the blog timeline,but that isnt an issue now is it ?

Traffic travis shows me i should kill this guy in serps....but alas im ranking under 3 goddamn youtube videos ... lol

It just takes time, slow the backlinking, start a blog, put the blog on your homepage and update it with quality posts often... you will rank.

You are not doing anything wrong.

You just need to keep building backlinks and make new content. Don't give up even though it can become a bit frustrating.

If you really think it sucks, then can it be a good idea to leave the site for a month or two and then get back with new energy.

He may actually be ranking for another keyword but the residual is the same as yours.

Do an analysis on his content, has he got more onsite than you?

Are his internal links better?

How is his external links places, anchor text or footer (articles)

What are the PR's of the incoming links of his compared to yours?

thats where I would start, then when you know that, try to do the same....

Well i am adding new posts every 2 days,mostly videos.

I also blast my web 2.0 backlinks with scrapebox.I have some of them with 3000k backlinks.

Its really really frustrating.

Btw my domain is a INFO,and his got a COM,but that shouldnt matter no ?

Is your site well optimized for on-site and on-page seo? Just backlinks are not enough if on-page seo is preventing you to rank

You are doing fine less one thing: PATIENCE

SEO is a long and neverending process. Just keep building links and be patient. You can't beat an almost 1 year old domain with a new 3 months domain name in a heartbeat. And of course be sure your competitor is building backlinks the same as you do. Otherwise he wouldn't be there. So keep up the good work and the most important thing BE PATIENT.

This guy has moved number 1 just last month...but his last post on the site is january....so i don't know what to make of it.

Also i have moved up and down ,my heart would jump when my page would rank at number 4-5 for about 4 days,now its sleeping at between 11-16.

If you are using free tools you are gonna get the same results more or less from each one of them as most of them are based on YSE. Pay for a seomoz or majestic seo account and see what really is going on.

Most of them,tough some web 2.0 properties i made with Magic Submiter and update regularly with spinned articles are not,i mean they are in g index,but not as my backlinks.
