Hey

So here is the deal ... I have gotten my self in to minisites lately. The domain name is a .info and gets exactly 6,600 searches a month in google with no competition. Also not the domain name is a keyword.

So how many backlinks do guys think it will take to to get site on number one on google for "the keyword the domain is." Also it is a 5 page minisite and each page is search engine optimized very well.

Thanks in advance.

Edit: Oh and it also has unique articles.

It will take 2 months at least because its a .info :(

next time get .org or .com or .net

Yeah, I never know how many backlinks to get, guess you stop when your number 1 :)

It depends on your competitors backlinks more than anything else.
If all the competitors for your keyword on page 1 have 100's and thousands of backlinks or even if less number of backlinks but from high PR pages it might take long time to get on page 1 while if the competitors have low quality backlinks with less numbers you should be able to rank on page 1 within a couple of days.

The goal is not just to rank on page #1 but to outrank your competitors on page #1

As long as number of links are concerned, it totally depends on the quality of links not just the quantity. Even one high authority backlink can outrank all your competitors while even thousands of poor quality backlinks might not be able to do that.

Come on!! Is that really true? I've heard something to that effect before, I guess I underestimate the power of the "good links"? I never have had a "good link" I don't think....

I just thought they were a touch better or something...

Well I just checked. Mr.MunberOne has 7 back links. Also all of the 7 pages which are linking in have 0 page rank.

So lets say 25 quality links 20pr1 pages and 5pr3 pages will do the trick?

Are those backlinks to the full domain, or just to the page?

Just to that page.

The domain has like 31k backlinks ... but I don't think that matters since google ranks each page independently right?

Its not like that you won't rank with low quality backlinks but definitely high quality backlinks can even be worth 1000 low quality backlinks.

A high quality backlink doesn't only means a high PR backlink or backlink from an authority site but you can further elaborate it with an example.

eg :- If you're getting a backlink from mashable.com or techcrunch.com for your seo related, technology related site its far more better than having 1000's of blog comments or profile backlinks.

Definitely you can rank well with such backlinks. If those pages are blog posts and you are expecting to rank well by blog commenting on those pages then definitely you may not rank. Also the niche have to be inter-related, having a backlink from lotto site for seo niche is worthless.

Man, the competition is low so it doesn't matter if it will take a week or a month, if you believe it's a good keyword START DOING YOUR HOMEWORK.

Agreed, there are way to many variables. You just need to start building links and track your results.

I totally agree with you. If you want to succeed, you have to take some time and think more in deep
