Hi there,

I want to hire people on here but my posting limits are extremely frustrating. Any post that contains any reasonable size paragraph gets filtered as "spam". The thread I wrote in the hiring section was rather long. I also want to engage in analysis on here but that also results in long posts. My guess is I need to donate, or else post a lot of posts :P what do I need to do? Thanks :)

Posting limits....?
I never experienced that... and my posts are quite long...

I think you are putting URLs... that is not allowed until you have a certain number of posts...

Nope. I don't put URL's in my post. I figured out pretty quickly that that wasn't allowed :) I find that with my long posts, if I cut them down, eventually they go through. I might be wrong here. Essentially, I'd like my posting privileges upped so I can fully engage on the forum :)

Perhaps I am not allowed to post in the want-to-hire section? I am really looking for freelance workers and looking to discuss advanced methods of automating SEO.

Maybe its one of the sections you need 50 posts.

See thats the thing. Is there a page which outlines what my limits are? I haven't advertised any services at all or posted anything remotely spammy, but my posts have been kinda long and when I cut them short they go through. What counts as a "newbie" here? Is there anyway to fast-track this process or am I just stuck trying to post to 50. I don't want to race there, I want to post good quality posts instead at my own pace :)

There are no short cuts at BHW.....
but if its THAT important to you..
then become a DONOR ...

i'm sure most of these limits will be lifted

See thats what I'm talking about :D

There is the $97 donor thing. Not only do I not want to be paying $97 for a new forum, but I also don't meet the VIP qualifications. I see there is another donor thing. Is there are set amount I need to donate to get these limitations lifted and show I'm not a spammer? :D

I'm finding it annoying that I have to make 15 posts before I can send a PM! I need to send one now so I'm going to have to make 10 random posts. This is too many, I dont want to clog up BHW with pointless ramblings :-)

your join date also counts as to when certain restrictions are lifted, as you have only just joined I think it is 30 days and 50 posts, so you still have to hit the 30 days

I think best idea for not facing such kind of problem is not to put URLs in your post.

I am new here. are certain forums posting restricted to newbies? as in cannot reply to posts?

Hmm...gotta say I think the 15 post count to send PM's is a little stupid, but I see why its been done.

Maybe just making it so people can only REPLY to PM's even if they have lower than 15 posts?

you should definitely be able to at least reply to pms when you have less than 15 posts.

I am cool with requiring certain number of posts before you can PM, to prevent obvious spamming of forum members. Also this is very common on all legit forums.

What I DONT get, and think is really dumb, is the fact that they even limit the posts you make.

I just tried to respond to a legit question. I took 10 minutes typing out three paragraphs and then I get the "your post wasn't approved and assumed to be spam, but hey if you pay us $97 we'll lift it."

That is just retarded.

So you want us to use short, pointless answers?

What's funny is the filter isn't even made properly.

I posted a 1 line answer then just went back and edited my post and was able to put the rest of my paragraphs in lol.

I couldn't find the post that explains this dumb policy or how many short posts need to be made before we can write what we want. I guess I'm down to spam this site with one liners, it just seems like a waste.

I have been looking for a thread where all the requirement are posted but was not able to find one. I think the admin should have done this so as to enable newbies know what requirement they need to meet before they can do what.

i really dont think its anything to do with post length like you think, its to do with certain words! the filters are very sensitive to certain words, sometimes when i write a large reply it will get blocked but it has nothing to do with how big the reply is its to with a word in my reply, the most frustrating part is that it can be a word that you would never think would be filtered, they are very sensitive a bit too sensitive, but hey thats the price you got to pay for such a well run forum!
