Gas Prices

My dad did call me few days ago from Libya (I went out) and gas price was $4.19 per Litre!, which means $251.63 for 60 litres.

Holy****. How is that possible?
Low supply and high demand?

Well you do know that tons of gas comes from Libya (I lived there, before price was $8 for 60 litres.)

Well as you know it's a war over there, rebels taking over oil fields, and prices raised.

Yea, but in Europe, most cars are not only more efficient, but everything is usually closer together with plenty of public transportation options. It is not comparable.

Not necessarily, in my home country everything is further for me than here. Is there a lack of public transportation in USA? In Tennessee, maybe. In Long Island and New York City, hell no. I take the train and subway every time I go to NYC. If you need an efficient car, get a hybrid, I will enjoy my v8 Jeep till gas is half as cheap here. So indeed it is comparable with similar locations.

It's $4 something a gallon in California....Greedy corupt oil company fucks!

You guys from US, don't forget to convert gallons to liters since that what OP is referring to. Gallons and liters are not comparable.

That couldn't be the reason. The reason is corruption.

Israel has no oil and all their oil is coming from their enemies. Common sense would mean $10 per liter right?....
Oil is expensive there, but it AIN'T $4.19/L which is insane.

In Pennsylvania, it's about $3.89 for 87. Then $3.99 for 89. And finally, for 91, it is $4.19. That is per gallon. For different countries, the 87 89 and 91 are octane ratings.

Because I have an Eclipse GT V6, it uses premium. I was told, I will ruin the engine if I use anything less than 91. So, my luck - I have to use expensive gas. I don't want no fast sport car anymore. I want something that is good on gas, and will get me places. :)

$3.77/gallon here in Missouri, USA.

(or, $0.94 per litre)

national average in the US is about to hit $4/gal.....so still not very expensive compared to other places, but still plenty of people here not happy about it

My car requires premium also. The previous owner used regular and it shakes bad while accelerating on anything less than 93...although most people's car that require premium just aren't as fast on regular. My car probably just needs a tuneup.

RON 95 - $ 0.63 per litre
RON 97 - $ 0.97 per litre

in Malaysia.

1.21 at liter in Edmonton Alberta
I thought we were high, but when you live in a province that is run by oil you expect to pay less

$4.30+ here in California!

Like $60 bucks to fill the tank!!
