My First Micro Niche Website

Hi,

I have found a keyword with 5000 monthly searches and too little competition 3$ cpc , .net was available so I have registered the domain ,installed wordpress and added two articles (not unique) . I have not touched the website since apart of bookmarking the two articles to digg.I have checked google and my two articles are already indexed and I m sitting in position 20 in google and 31 in yahoo . I want to hit page 1 but I am little bit confused (articles ,directories,scrapebox ,xrumer) .Could you please Help with a good strategy (white Hat ) to achieve a top 3 Google ranking ? Thanks

Me too i just set up my first micro niche site, but am finding it incredibly hard to even rank for any keywords. there are a few other micro niche sites on the topic and a big authority one so maybe thats why. But im sorta stuck as i feel ive already put effort into this one and really want to make it somewhat suceed. Sorry about my post, just wanted to say im asking the same questions.

use long tail keywords instead of using the short tail ones. long tails are easier to rank. then when u get enough money buy some software and rank for the short tail ones.

Having unique content right off the bat with appropriate keyword density will help a lot. It only takes 10 minutes to write a quality 500 word article so just spend 20 minutes of your time and give yourself that advantage right away.

As far as SEO you want to make sure your onsite SEO is spot on (pretty basic and easy stuff), and your backlinks are of decent quality.

Spend some time creating some high domain PR forum profile links (you can get heaps of lists of appropriate sites on BHW) as well as blog comments and anything on a .edu or .gov domain if you can find them.

When you've built your backlinks, convert into a RSS feed and submit to feed aggregators to help them be indexed and you will have significantly more success than you're having now.

I'd setup a Google Alerts for blogs that are in your niche. Then everyday submit 10 comments on those blogs. And do some bookmarking stuff going on.

How many backlinks do your competitors have? Thats your goal.

I'd set a goal like 3 months. 3 months you want to have around the same amount of backlinks as your competitors, so split it all up.

How many backlinks per month? How many backlinks per week? How many backlinks per day?

So, your competitors are at 1000 backlinks. Thats 11 a day you need. This is puts you in good position in 3 months time.

Carry on with social bookmarking, search engines love unique content, so sort that out first, then while your writing unique content for the site, you might as well might a few other articles to use for link building. Once you've got some fresh content on your site, optimize your site / the content for it, use some header tags and what not to get your keywords in there, then use the articles you wrote previously to submit to article websites, ezinearticles take forever, I'd just submit to articlebase/goarticles, you could do some link wheels and just web 2.0 pages for backlinks as well, that would work. This is all pretty whitehat, nothing blackhat about any of that

Great job on finding the keyword! It's not easy to find a good one like that.

1. make sure your on page seo is great
2. replace the dup. content with unique content
3. add 1-2 unique articles per week, make sure your main keyword is in the first word or in the first sentence of the articles. put 2-3 related keywords in the article too. You can use google wonder wheel for good related keywords.
4. build one way anchor links to the content before building anchor links to the domain. how many depends on your competition. aim for a 50/50 split between content url and domain. use social bookmarking, manual blog commenting, tweets and build a facebook fan page.
5. build backliinks to your one way anchor links using article marketing, mass blog commenting, create an rss feed, etc. Any of the common methods would be fine.

I agree - add a few more articles, get some 2.0 properties pointing back to them, and use SB or xrumer to get backlinks to the 2.0 properties.

Am I missing something here, how the hell do you write a quality post in 10 min? If the post is indeed quality, which it should be, it should take you longer than 10 min. In my opinion its better to have 15 well thought out quality posts than 50 posts that took 10 min each to create.

Spinning articles will probably help out a lot. Also, fresh content is a must. Search engines LOVE unique and fresh content. Don't go overboard with that though.

Why don't you use a unique article? At least spin it to 70%.
