TRY LYING TO GOOGLE (original thought, I know . .)
My previous client put a Public Mailbox Place listed on Google's places as his second business address. A skanky competitor bitched to Google about this, got our listing suspended. My client complained to me, told me to fix it.
So I inquired directly to Google by phone (I told them I was just an administrative assistant when the Google staffer asked if I was the company SEO) interesting, huh?
Anyway, I claimed the address was a legit office for our mobile service providers. Google dude asked if this was a public mailbox( remember, they have this place listed already) and I lied anyway, Jedi-mind-trick-style and said not that I'm aware, never been to that division office.
Google dude seemed very busy (they all are over there) and said he'll check into this further. Our listing came back up the next week.
BTW- we made sure to have a different VOIP phone number for that area code that forwarded to our main line. I coached our receptionist to answer calls from this line to remember one thing- she must tell anyone who inquires on this line that she is right now talking to them from inside the second office (BS!).
I think Googleboy called her, she said the right thing, and he just let us back up. He prolly had too much to do instead of worrying or investigating one Places listing for too long.
