I've created a test app and add a new phone number, opened the debugger and then put the number in google then clicked send, nothing is happened in the debugger!
the number was : [SIZE=-1](323) 744-4980[/SIZE] so I put [SIZE=-1]3237444980 [/SIZE]and select US, is there anything wronge yet ?

what happened when you tried, did fb not approve of the number?

You can also do this with twilio.com
Same problem here....nothing shows up in the debugger from FB. I can, however, send an SMS text from my mobile phone and it shows up in the debugger just fine. Perhaps there's a specific filter in place to prevent verifying PVAs from FB? Can anyone else verify that Tropo still works? If so, did you need to configure/modify any settings?

maybe some numbers provided dont work, I had to test with many of them to have one showing something in the debug window (for gmail validation)
I tried several more Tropo numbers yesterday, no avail. In every case I was able to get SMS messages to populate in the debugger but nothing from FB.
As an alternative, I also even went so far as to sign up for a paid account on Twilio, but could not figure out how to make SMS messages show up in their debugger. It appears that their service requires you to setup a PHP script on your site, and then you can configure auto-replies to SMS messages and stuff like that. But to just see the actual content of incoming SMS messages....couldn't figure out how to do it-- even after searching through their forums.

Well I'm just now trying to get into the game of P V A creation....never messed with it before. If I can get Tropo to work I'll gladly share how, but until then it'd be a waste of my time and yours to explain what I've done so far. I mean, who wants to know how to reach a dead end?

Well, not sure what is going on guys - I have just created 3 Gmail accounts without a problem using 2 different Tropo numbers.
All working for me still!
Here is a screenshot of the Application Debug - the message of the SMS is outlined in red (the black marks are the URL to my script on my VPS)

I am getting a few PMs / emails about how to set up the script so hopefully instead of me sending this to individuals, if I stick it here it may help:
Get some hosting and upload the script I put in the thread to it.
You will have to get the tropo.class.php file from https://github.com/tropo/tropo-webapi-php/blob/master/tropo.class.php and upload that to the same place as the script.
In Tropo, create a WebAPI application and in the boxes that ask for a URL (for voice and sms), give the URL to your script.
That should be it
If all goes to plan a log.txt file should be made and you get the SMS content in there (when you click the send SMS button on GMAIL or whatever, make sure you have the debug panel up as well from within Tropo)

Tropo has about 3 dozen example scripts, one of which is how to send an SMS.

Wow good topic here, as i found FB just changed their verification methods, they removed alot of providers and also sometimes asks to send not recieve sms to given number.
