Twitter - Staying Under the Radar

I thought with Twitter's recent slashing of T accounts I thought it would be great if we could all list what works for you to stay under the radar?

Make it look human like, so add the background and profile pic. At this point I don't add any hyperlink to the profile.

Day 1: Max 50 follows
Day 2: Max 250 until 700 followers
After 700 followers: Follow 300-500 p/day until 1000
After 1000 followers: 400-600 until 2000 followers.
After 2000 followers: Use Tweet Adder's ratio setting to 1.1:1 follow ratio + 1.5:1 unfollow ratio. This means it won't always be following and unfollowing, it'll depend on what your follow/following ratio is.

I generally set it to follow/unfollow every 1 minute. This varies so it's never exactly 60 seconds. It might seem a large delay, but following every minute is still 60 an hour and 600 every 10 hours.

With regards to tweets, I set up a simple Google news alert RSS feed and use Twitterfeed to tweet approx every 3 hours or so.

I don't really start using it to promote my money site until I have at least 700 followers. The RSS Feed will keep them up to date with news, so it's not as if I'm not tweeting, it's just all automated with the latest news.

With regards to IPs I assume Twitter links them to when the accounts were CREATED, and not when they are USED? I generally use public proxies until they are proving useful for me. If they are helping me to make money I shift them over to a private proxy and will soon be letting accounts with 2000+ followers run on a VPS.

So, let's all help each other out - have you found by doing X amount is too much and you can pinpoint it as to a reason why your account was suspended?

Day 1 sounds fine
max 250 is too much, try max 100
at 700, same thing max 300-500 is too much, try 150 (at the most)
too much at 1,000, same thing

Speed of following isn't as important as you may think. I'm still following at 5 seconds min 20 seconds max without problems. If you are have problems keeping accounts alive, you need to stop following so much at one time. 10% of your current total is always a good bet.

Twitter does keep track of how many accounts you are using on one ip. If you are using 5 accounts (at the same time of course) on one ip, and one of the accounts does something bad/gets it flagged/suspended, all the other accounts get punished as well regardless of what it does. 5 accounts is pushing the limit anyway, I find that if you have anymore twitter gets more banhappy, sometimes regardless of what you do. And on public proxies, forget about it.

That's true, Twitter is never set in stone. Most of the time though, my other accounts get banned for no reason when one of them gets suspended, even if they were not doing anything. Accounts that already have followers and aren't new don't seem to get affected though.

Definitely, I really believe that if you lower the rate of following you will see less suspensions.

Yes, I think once you have more than 2000 followers, you can almost do what the hell you like.

I have an account which has over 18,000 followers and pretty much every day I'm following between 700-1000 and unfollowing several hundred too.

The amount you tweet I think could also come into play - or perhaps what you tweet. If it's nothing but sales pitches I'm sure all it takes is a manual look and bang, it's dead.

I follow/unfollow at a rate of 190 to 199 a day on my accounts. If I hit the ratio wall, I will go through and do an extra unfollow run of users that are following me back to knock down the ratio.

I post mostly feeds from my autoblogs but use tweetattacks to retweet offers across accounts.

There are currently some ratio blocks that seem to pop up on accounts in the 2k ranges of followers. I don't see them on accounts with more than 3000 followers.

I try and sprinkle in some non-linked tweets or I tweet between accounts to make them look legit. I re-tweet celebrity tweets that don't have links too.

One suggestion I saw on BHW the other day was to create some lists with your accounts and add random people to the lists. I started implementing that on a few accounts recently.

NO1 make sure you verified your account email or your account will be deleted after 90 days, twitter has tighten up this week, if you use tweetadder make sure you use proxys as auto following has been banned for a while only auto followback is allowed, u will lose all your accounts if you dont. i know because my auto follow apps got suspended yesterday, they was working fine for over 1 year, plus other sites like randomtweepsdotcom has been suspended too.

ive been doing some experiments for the last few days and ive found that on new accounts i think you should change profile pic etc, then wait 24hrs, before following ,as it looks like theres a new score system where there screening all new accounts under 24hrs, i might be wrong but, i had 10 accounts, i left 5 of them for 2 days and then done exactly the same with them, 5 got suspended the other 5 are fine..... Just thought id would share this with you

What proxies did you use for each of the 2 lots of 5?
How often did you tweet with these?

I'm asking, because I often think something has happened due to X happening, when it could have been also down to other reasons.

If you're saying all 10 were set up exactly the same way with the same IP (or type of IP) and the only difference between the 5 suspended and 5 not is that you didn't follow anybody with the 5 that were ok, then that's pretty conclusive.

The thing is: Twitter themselves ask us to search for our interests and follow a few people when a new account is set up, so something isn't right, if not following anybody with a new account means you've more chance of being ok.

Hi, yes i used same ip for all 10, but i was aggressive i followed 400 on each and the 2 day old accounts is still ok, so following your recommend 50 should be ok ,but it seems like you can be more aggressive after 24-48hrs as im in the 1000s now with no problem

I have even problems to get off the ground with account creation. If I don't verifiy the emails, everything that went with a public proxy is dead after some hours. I lost about 10.000 fresh accs yesterday. Doesn't matter, I'm learning: Today I implemented random autofollowing of some of the suggested people, full random profile and email verification. Although there seem to be a problem with email confirmation ('confirm your email' message won't go away):

I'm unclear as to what you use the VPS for. Could you clarify? Is there a way to run Tweetattacks from a VPS or Dedicated server?

3 totaly clean no email verified no pic no posts

I am using tweetadder no proxy all 46 on 1 IP

ok it was working for 2 months now yesterday 43 accounts got banned
and now guess which were not banned >.<

twitter dont care how much accounts on one ip I had about 10k followers after 2months
and it was running 24/7 on my dedi server without ip change

Hi thats interesting, i think its because your using tweetadder, are u sending DM messages? cos tweetadder still uses API for that, so if you send more than 250 from all them accounts(1 ip) you would constantly hit the rate limit and would lose them

It's nothing to do with Tweet Adder. It's how you set up each account, what you tweet, how often and how aggressively you follow/unfollow.

IP may come into it, but Tweet Adder I'm 99.9% certain is nothing to do with why accounts are banned.

PS: Tweet Adder does not use the API.

What do you mean by 'totally clean' - totally untouched?

We seem to be getting very much contredicting results as 2 of my accounts have been fine and they have been following between 800-1000 every day and unfollowing people after 1 day.

All tweets have a hyperlink in them too.
