Just Went From #2 to #410

I feel like I just got punched in the gut. My site that I took forever to build the slow way finally got to #2 on google for 22k exact searches a month. I have been there for a week, I checked this morning and it was at #2 and just checked and it's at #410. All my other keywords are still the same but my most important keyword is at 410 and I double checked with other sources and that's right. Is this normal, would the google dance go that far down. I know it just happened but damn, I was finally starting to make some money with this one only to see it do this.

I had my first wordpress blog do that. went from 3rd to 125th for no reason and I didn't even have any backlinks at the time. what tools have you used?

I have been just getting high pr manual blog comments, small profile links with sick submitter, article submits. It has all been steady and no mass blasting at all.

Ya will do, hopefully it's just one spider and when the other ones come in it will correct. it just seems so far down like maybe someone did a manual review and put it there. I'm linking to Amazon a bunch for products, but there is a lot of content and not a high bounce rate and they stay on my page for awhile.

OP - Dont get disappointed with google dance, you need to build backlinks more and more quality backlinks.

You will surely get your position back within 4 - 6 weeks, if you will build links on daily you will get more authority and will gain your position or even top position.

Ya I know, it's a frustrating setback. But that's the SEO world I guess, it just took such a steady climb and was never bouncing around before and now to go this far back after all the work I put in is disappointing. I gotta just suck it up and keep building...

It might just be a dance. I've lost a few sites over the past couple weeks too. A few have come back, others haven't yet, but none actually got deindexed, just dropped in ranking.

Keep building backlinks like a few others mentioned and see if that helps.

wow...how the heck did G00gle dance that much...That's what I don't like about G00gle with his dance feature...I think I should also find more High PR and quality related niche backlink in order to avoid huge random dance like that.

I have had a site go from pg1 #3 for a competitive KW to nowhere to be found. Two months later the PR returns. No BH, only WH SEO with good relative content. The site delivered exactly what query asked for, so it is very hard to understand the drop the PR. If we could know why G does what they do, we could all be rich.

Sometimes with the blog comments you can be put on a sidebar of recet posts. I know when this happens to me I end up being site wide on a high PR blog and my serps increase very well.

As soon as that blog coments gets pushed off the list I see my site drop in the Serps.

That's what I was doing only getting High PR related niche backlinks lately, that's why this is pissing me off so much.

So if that is the case...Xrumer or link wheel/pyramid with low PR link to high PR still useful or is pretty much useless?

Probably we get a good SERP, but then again...do we get a good chance to get Trusted?

I'm sure all that still works, I just have to figure out why the hell google is not liking me. I had follow tags on my Amazon links and had a tag cloud in my footer but that never hurt me before. Those are the only things I can think of google might not like. Anyone know if a tag cloud in the footer affected anything for them? or Amazon links being do follow?

I had a buddy that had his site dropped off the planet and then 4 weeks later BAM! back stronger than ever. And he was doing a lot of black hat.

Post new unique articles and continue building quality backlinks. That's the only solution.
