List them and what the approval process is (eg. instant or approval either by computer or human, or if you've submitted something there and it never got approved because they're slow as hell; I've heard of people's articles being in "review" for over a year at some sites).

Squidoo - no approval process

Ever - no approval process

scribd - no approval process

ezinearticles - human approval process

hubpages - no approval process

no one knows of any article sites other than those 5?

Those are the most common, people use, there are more, locally targeted.

I would like to know how much traffic those sites could bring me to my site doing an article on there?

Here are few more

ArticleDashboard.com
Isnare.com
ArticlesBase.com
ArticleAlley.com
ArticleClick.com
Amazines.com
ArticlePool.com
SooperArticles.com
jewcy.com
thelittlechimpsociety.com
smartbananas.com
thedefendersonline.com
skobee.com
articlespirit.com

you have
goarticles.com -no approval process
articleslash.net -no approval process
jigsy.com -no approval process
www.abcarticledirectory.com-human approval process

I could've sworn goarticles.com had some goofy approval process

Cool, what are the approval processes?

wait, did jigsy replace viviti? Bravenet used to advertise viviti and now it looks like it advertises jigsy.

article sites aren't big on getting traffic to your money site, it's more about the backlink juice you get from them being an authority site in googles eyes because they have lots and lots of hopefully unique content, which some of that content could be yours, leading back to your site, passing rank.

Yea you live off that one for a while right up until Google's new QA staff runs through the site for random checks and snatches back the rank.

Your best bet is to create a blog, contribute content to another site or work with a writer's network to backlink your content.
