can you install scrape box on home computer?

hey, just bought SB,
and i am trying to install it on my own pc. i get an error saying that the location that it is installed to is not writable.

can anyone shed any light on this?

I used it any my PC at the start....... but when to VPS because it had faster connection.... people used SB on their PC if they have good connection....

yeah i have a 80mbit connection here.
so, could you tell me how to run SB on my pc?
the error says:

sorry, but we are not able to write the current scrapebox install location!
please make sure that you install scrapebox to location where we have write access!

any help? :S

Try contacting scrapebox support, they are really good.

OP - It is better to send the screen shot of your error to the support staff of scrapebox, they will respond you within 24 - 48 hours. Also try to change your installation directory to check ur good luck

you can, but its worth it to get it on a VPS imo, unless you have a real good comp

put it somewhere else then. the folder with SB in it can be anywhere.

you might want to check with your ISP and make sure you have unlimited bandwidth too. Some companies like Comcast limit you to like 250bg.month. Most people would never get close to that, but with SB running a few hours every day you will.

just try a cut and paste of the whole folder - I just dropped mine straight in C drive not in any other folder.

Well, I don't think running SB in your home PC is a good idea because your ISP can start asking questions if they notice something weird.. better rent a small 512MB RAM vps from XSserver for $15 and it's all good

Just bumping to ask as I'm on Virgin Media 10mb plan. I just did a short SB blast and it used about 100mb.

Virgin Media advertise as unmetered but of course they have the fair use policy.

Does anybody else use Scrapebox on their home PC with VM and had any problems? What bandwidth do you use on a daily basis?

You can install it on any Windows Computer. Laptop, PC - Tablet as long as it's got windows installed it will run.

Yes, scrapebox can be installed on your pc or laptop. The error that you are getting may have something to do with your system configuration. So, as suggested above, contact support.

Yes, you can use it on a PC. I used mine on an old comp in the beginning (I am a Mac user), but changed over to a VPS pretty fast ... It rapes your internet connection if you don't have a good line. On a VPS you can also scrape 24/7 with ease.
