Netherlands or Germany?

Hi guys,

I have online movie streaming website (non-adult) which I am currently hosting from United States, I am not hosting any video on my website but redirect.

Today I came to know that ICE - Homeland Security Investigation has shut down one more torrent website (on 25th Nov) torrent-finder due to piracy issue. I am worried about my website now, I want to shift my domain and server/host to some service provider outside U.S. I checked a lot of websites details on whoisdomaintools and discovered that most of them are hosting either from Germany or Netherland and some from Italy and Belgium.

So here I am seeking advice from some of the Masters on BHW...what should I do....should I opt for Germany or Netherland...Kindly show me the right path as I am really confused with it.

If possible do let me know few of the best service providers from that region which you have an experience with.

Your inputs are really valuable to me so reply ASAP.

Germany does not only screw you for everything that might be considered illega on the net (my buddy had to find out the hard wayl but the US also just needs to whistle and Germany comes running tohelp (and I mean help with everything from telling them where you are to handcuffing you and sending you back)

i am from germany, and all i can say is that german laws/politicians are just dumb when it comes to copyright issues, and many other things... sometimes you have the feeling that they don't even know how to use this thing called internet, but this does not keep them from issuing useless laws and prohibitions. well gotta stop on this topic, or i'll go crazy^^

Germany? Hell no! Our laws in Germany aren't more relaxed then the US laws.
Go for Russia, Malaysia, Panama or something like that.

Have you found this hosting company to be reliable? My problem with offshore was that if you had a problem you were lucky when you got an answer this year and not next.

I don't know about the dedicated hosting but forget about the shared hosting since the server are in Denver Colorado USA. And it doesn't matter whether the company is located in Malaysia if the Feds want to data from these servers and it is in their own country they will just take it

Webmaster from Germany are escaping to oversees, because the legal situation is really annoying! So I would suggest you going to Russia or something like that!

They have two datacenters, one is in the US and the other is in Malaysia. You can request specifically for the Malaysian one.
