jackie Chan Die {Hoax} Twitter trend

well this isnt internet marketing; its trolling.

I can still change the code of the page but its only getting 10 hits a minute. I changed it a couple of hours ago btw, check it out.

well for future reference do some reading around here in the money making sections, i think the CPA section could be applied well to these methods. how did you find this site anyways?

if you monitor twitter closer, you can notice that these kind of '#{insert a famous celebrity here} died' or '#R.I.P. {insert a famous celebrity here}' trends are poppin up on twitter quite frequently (there were hoax trends about the death of Weezy, Justin Bieber etc.)

i guess it's still working tho :)

Imagine how jackie chan felt when he logged on to his twitter account! ;)

Hmmm Jackie dying is def agood hoax for traffic.. but iwhtout monitizing it.. it was jsut a stupid ploy to get some hits.. I loaded it up on an old computer that i use for just checking peoples sites out... but not trojans or auto loaders or even iframes.. makles you wonder what his true intentions were on doing this kinda stunt...

A possible way to monetize this would be to ask for donations. People love donating, so you were to do it with the jackie chan article, you could add a paragraph at the end like this:

"Jackie Chan loved children and was always looking for ways to help poor children gain a better life. The Jackie Chan Foundation is accepting donations to keep his legacy alive, and to give deserving children a real chance."

You'd then have links to the donation site (which is yours), as well as a banner ad somewhere on the page. Of course you'd need to process the "donations" yourself and pocket the cash...you'd also need to create a donation site that looks legit, but that's not a problem for some people on here to help you with.

that's extremely fraudulent and you're just asking to get in legal trouble.

Yes, it is amazing approach and opened my eyes - as I was doing yesterday my tweeting round!

 ... ...

If the goal is to make money then my idea would work, if properly executed...though once people found out it is a hoax they'd probably try to get their donations back.

The kind of traffic you get from stuff like this is usually worthless. Look at all the traffic facebook gets relative to its income and compare it to google. It's not just a matter of getting traffic; you need a captive audience.

I suggested it but I would not personally do that myself. I don't consider "blackhat" to be code for ripping people off or misleading them. I consider it more like gaming the system when it comes to online marketing. I do not think anyone here should be promoting shit for the sole purpose of making a quick buck and I do believe in providing a value for whatever dollar I earn.

Im a noob and still havn't made any $$, that said if somebody is gonna kill the bieber I want in! Have Gun will pull trigger! Lol There is a video of him gettin shot to pieces on csi, my kids have watched like 100 times. Any way to spin that and make some $$.

Epic!! But really really black'death'hat way of cashing in.

Should of made the Fake News link forward itself automatically after 15 or 20 seconds to Jackie Chan DVD's on Amazon or something.

You know usually I am first to say "ah fuck morals, this is black hat" but damn man that made me really pissed! I'm glad I saw it here first and read {HOAX} or I would have had a terrible day until I found out the truth. Jackie Chan has always been my favorite person since the almighty Bruce Lee died... What a dickhead for scaring people for money... however I admire his innovation and creativity!

talk about torn...
