(GET) Invitation to german fiverr

Today I got an email from fiverr because they launch their service in Germany as well. They are still in the beta phase but launch is not far. I have 3 invitations left, so if you are interested just send me a PM. (Invitations make sense only for german-speaking folks, so send me your PM in german ^^)

What's the difference in German fiverr ?

German fiverr is in german language, thats the only difference. I guess they want to appeal to those who dont speak english well or dont want to deal with stuff in english language. Therefore an account on fiverr dot de only makes sense for those who can speak german.

not necessarily, you don't have speak German to deliver orders, outsource writing the description of your gigs to somebody who speaks German well and then google translate or similar can do the trick in communication with the customer, there's no need for academic German

i just don't get it, it's in the invite only beta stage (orders are not possible), so why we should join, socialize or what?!

and i don't understand fiverr either, why don't they start with a Spanish speaking site? (yes, there are already Spanish clones, but they don't even worth to be mentioned), there are at least 4 times more (450M) Spanish native speaker than German native speaker (100M) and we still didn't talk about Chinese native speakers, maybe fiverr has more German users than Spanish speaking...

Yeah, theoretically your are absolutely right about that. I just see the problem with the "unrelaxed nature" of some german folks - means, when they dont get what they expect etc. they tend to start to discuss, want their money back, etc. All this could involve a good command of german language which could prove a problem when using only some translation tools.

Not sure why there is no spanish fiverr yet... maybe because most of the spanish speaking folks has a good command of english? Aside from that the german market doesnt have a lot of fiverr clones yet - and the handful of german fiverr clones that is existing right now is not really successful imho.

I would also guess is is 5 euro per gig and not $5 quite a difference

Apart from Spain, I don't think Spanish users are used to using their credit card for online purchases. However, it could be a way to get things done much cheaper than even the English version

I reckon fiverr has their reasons to start a german version first. At least if it were my company I would just check the demographics of my current users and invest in a area where most of my users are from. However I do not have details on that info so the only thing left to do for us is to speculate.

The fact remains, fiverr is coming to germany, so the german fiverr clones better stay on top of their game.

Now just hope that they dont invade the dutch market aswell otherwhise
