Post All "Is This Keyword Good" Questions HERE!! ( READ )

Good post but you forgot one very important thing, keyword history. The most important step is looking at Google insight and making sure the keyword is a strong one, not just a recent trend that is going to sink in a month or two. Without this step, every other step is completely useless.

You got a point there :)

@Aqua: Great thread man. Keep up the great work!

Thank you, I added, G00gle Insights, and G00gle Trends in the original post, Ill continue to add things were i see fit, if I missed anything, or come across something useful

The problem with this thread is that most of the people who are asking those questions are most likely new to this forum and also to IM. That means that they can't really attach pictures or url:s in their posts (due to forum limitations) to give the data for more seasoned marketers to comment on. How do I know that? I just tried to post here :)

But I like the idea of this thread, great initiative.

Lol Maybe so

I don't see anything funny in OPs thread to make fun! It shows you all vital information required for newbies to choose a profitable keyword to target. If you don't like the thread, NEVER mind posting a reply! A special thanks to Mods for removing the offensive post..

This is a great idea, I don't understand why people aren't taking it seriously.

I'll be up first.

The keyword consists of two words.

Traffic travis report:
34sr02q.jpg

Search results:
"keyword" = 171,000
inurl:"keyword" = 2,000
intitle:"keyword" = 3,400
inurl + intitle = 1,700

Monthly search results: 40,000 global monthly

Category: Consumer electronics

.com is taken, .org is available

The keyword isn't a "seasonal" one...gets good results throughout the year.

I'm new to IM, but have experience in web design. I'm planning on monetising using adsense.

Are they exact search count?

Planning for adsense... then what about the CPC?

It's an electronic product right? Check how serious the company is when it comes to trademark infringement as you gonna register EMD domain(not all companies like this)

Any site already ranking for that keyword other than shopping sites?

All the sites which are currently ranking is very bad in on-site SEO. This is an advantage for you..

The Keyword Competition looks good, As stated, is that search volume EXACT? As cyberzilla pointed out the on site seo is terrible, and by look of the back link to the domain i can tell these sites you are competing against, are not the likes of amazon, wiki, and some other authority figures.

My advice to you, find out the CPC, get the page ranked, then transition over to click bank or a cpa offer. Also Could you show us the G00gle Insights view.

Looks like a good keyword.

And thank you for using this thread.

No need to thank bro, I should be thanking you :)

Here's the insights

I'm guessing the peaks are christmas time when people are looking for presents.

They were exact apart from the inurl:"keyword". I double checked and it was 2,010. What difference does it make?

My plan is adsense for now as that's what I know best. This is my first IM site. When I get the hang of it I'll consider CPC and other methods.

On the traffic travis results, 2,3,4 is the website of the company.

With regard to copyright infringement, I'm using the company's name, but it's a quite a generic word, like Apple.

Stay away from this keyword! Even if you rank in 5 to 10. Visitors are gonna open the official website. You will hardly get visitors no matter what the search count is..

I made this mistake once. It's a keyword related eye glass with 15k [EXACT] search count where the products official site is occupying first 4 spots. Currently I'm ranking #6 but I usually get 8 to 15 visitors per day, that too from other long tail keywords not from the main keyword.

Damn...I've spent so long researching keywords and this was the best I found

How hard would it be to rank in the top 10 though? How long would it take, and could I do it with just scrapebox and SENuke/magic submitter?

Very True, From a consumers point of few if im looking for a specific product in google, and I see the official website for the product I almost always will go their!

Being this is your first go around, I would try to look for a more general term. that isnt brand specific

Edit: As for rankings go, you can get ranked fairly easily, but again alot of the traffic will be going to the official products page.

Considering the available EMD. With proper on-site SEO, backlinks from relevant sites and with few bookmarkings, we can reach top 10 with in 10 days. Hey this is my opinion, but there are people who can do this within in a week. Its all depends on your SEO strategy.

Okay, here was another keyword I found that looked promising (to me).

The market is finance, and its a keyword with three words.
w852sm.jpg

Monthly global searches: 74,000

"keyword" = 106,000
inurl:"keyword" = 9,670
intitle"keyword" = 10,900
intitle+inurl "keyword" = 8,070

.org is available.
Here's the insights data:

That Key word looks promising, How will you Monitise it? Adsence? If so what is the CPC

Is this a general keyword? or a product? and if it is a product again like the last keyword, are the originators placing in the results.

Overall looks like a great keyword.

What do you guys think about the keyword I am currently working on? I am currently in a tenth position after 14 days of backlinkind and updating content. Now I got stuck in this position.
mykw.jpg

no2,3,4,5 and 6 are huge companies, but the no1 is a weak website with bc.org domain and the keyword is Abc (Hope you understand what I am trying to say) and most of his backlinks are from blog comments and more than 80 percent of them are 0 or N/A PR strong. Thanks for your comments.

===Stats===
"keyword" - 113.000
all in title: 2.040
