Ok guys, this is a noobish question but one i need sorting out urgent or im screwed and will have to drop this whole CPA thing.

Basically im with a CPA network, everything is of course done in dollars, the checks are sent in dollars to me in the UK, i got by first two checks about 250 dollars in total, now the problem is, the UK banks charge so much to cash these checks and the basic charge for a dollar account is not worth.

Anyone else have this problem? what can I do? :(

Ask the company to send you the money via paypal/western union or something

I have had this problem also with a payment from a service customer. Its the pain in the butt

Perhaps ask the company to send you the money via wire? Then there are no checks to be cashed and it goes into your account automatically.

Sorry "ahiddenman" and I posted at the same time. I didn't mean to say pretty much the exact thing ha ha.

i get this problem with moneytree.

I wait a couple of weeks for the check to arrive to the UK, then i have to send them back through my bank on a 'collection basis' , back to the american bank, then they return them within 2-4 weeks!!

Oh well, still cash in the bank!

^^ Does it go into a US dollar account or UK account?

Thanks guys,

I think the wire transfer they charge a fee, which would take away a great portion of my profits. :(

I may need to look for another CPA network or try to come to some sort of agreement with them, which is unlikely i think.

They get paid into my uk currency account.

I only have a basic account, but someone called me from my bank saying if you have a current account with your bank, after a few dollar cheques have cleared and they trust the cheques, they will clear the cheques within a couple of days straight into your account.

Hope this helps mate :)

Most UK banks don't charge for accepting dollar cheques it's the US banks that charge apparently. Makes no difference though you still gotta pay. I've lost count of the money I've lost by just throwing cheques away and not cashing them.
I also started a dollar account but closed it for the very reason you mention, the bank's charges for running the account were ridiculous.

One positive point: some CPA networks send you cheques for your first 2 or 3 payments then will pay directly into your UK account. Check with your current netowork or as you suggest find a CPA network that is more UK payment friendly. There are also some UK based CPA networks, Moreniche and Profitistic to name two.

Wire transfer should only cost about 10-20 bucks/pounds depending on the amount you're receiving. Hope you figure it out soon!

All the best.
