Here's an example of my music site that is trying to draw traffic through article directories and other IM-oriented ventures. I have opportunities to grab people's emails all over, through Facebook connect and Twitter Connect. I also rank fairly well for keywords localized to my region, eg, CITY X LOCAL MUSIC.
