Too much high PR backlinks?

I heard sometimes that google penalizes the sites that obtains too many high PR backlinks too fast, it's that true?

I could make some backlinks to my site froms sites of PR3-6.Must I do it slow? How many links from these sites could I do every week?

Google will not penalize you badly , if you make to many links then you may google dance. But thats nothing to worry about as it will stop in a few days then and those high PR links will boost you up.

Make too many backlinks in a little time is very good and Google will penalizes you if they crawl each and every of your link.

So making too many links are not bad but making too many links with forcing Google to crawl it immediately will make Google dance.

So better is to make too many backlinks and let the Google crawls it naturally

What do you mean with "and let Google crawls it naturally" ?
I have no influence, if (when) a site is crawled by google.

They won't penalize you. What about when huge PR8-9 sites announce new sites on their webpages?

I thinks its just more google dance really, in fact even if you don't ping them, you need to keep in mind that other people will ping them, specially if we are talking about autoblogs.

backlinks are useful but they can be considered bad in some cases. If one of your backlinks is penalized so google will not improve your ranking. you should check from time to time whi is linking to you

Large amounts of low quality links can sometimes have temporary negative effects, but PR doesn't have much to do with quality.

always have a mix of high and low quality links and you'll be fine. Also try to be consistent with your link building campaigns. Don't blast a lot of links at once and then stop, it will rise a lot of flags.
