Hi fellow BHW-ers,

I got a consistent problem with scrapebox, I dunno whether it's the setting problems, but I always run through scrapebox fast poster and after 5 mins, the fast poster just stop posting and all become failed comments.

Initially, success rate was quite high, about 50% and after 5 mins become 0%. Something is very wrong. I will usually abort the operation and check server connection, Ping test was green, access test and authentication test was red, no connection at all.

I figured out it must be the connection to scrapebox server that was lost, because prior to this, all was green when I started scrapebox.

The problem can only be solved when I restart scrapebox, but this way, I cannot finished my full auto approve list commenting.

Anyway to ensure the connection for access and authentication remain green all the time? I am sure if this is solved, I can continue my fast poster without any problems. Please help.

p/s: I am running through private proxies, so it could'nt be proxy problem.

Thanks everyone for the help. I really love this forum.

yep i have just sent them the message. This is bad man i m not able to finish my auto approve list :(. BTW i m running it in vps server 2008 (xsserver 1gb). I m having same problem with blog analyzer aswell. In the start all works fine then after 5 min i get error timeout for all. Dont know what the hell is wrong, when i check the server connection in i get Ping test green, access test and authentication test was red, no connection at all. When i restart sb and check everything turns out to be green. There is some serious problem which needs to be fixed :(.

1. try fast poster on your local computer. i've heard that there are some ways to use "others" licences on vps (xsserver...) and this maybe an licensing issue?
2. check your proxies - i use yourpriv... and sometimes i have to get to setup access again (even if my ip remains the same)
3. what is your version of sb? i've noticed some problems with 1.15.7 (it was hanging all the time with +100k lists) - now i'm running 1.5.9 and everything is ok (great success rate).

Ever since i bought sb i only ran it on my computer, never on vps. Try using it that way

Most likely your proxies are getting banned. After the initial wave of successes their ips are reported through akismet or whatever and your comments are now no longer being accepted.

Win 2008 will have the half open connections limit.
Try this: http://www.half-open.com/

Good luck buddy!
It is surely this. I recently installed to xp and had this stupid Half open connection limit and after few successes it all started to fail. Contacted the Scrapebox Support and they kindly replied and told me how xp has this half open connection limit to stop viruses from spreading. You can patch this or you can reinstall to different version like vista or w7. In your case I guess you gotta tell your vps owner to remove the half open connection limit.

Thanks for the reply guys.

But if the proxies are banned will the will the access test and authentication test be red?. Because when i start scrapebox all are green. And secondly i m having same issues with blog analyzer aswell that too without proxies.

I also tried using the half-open limit fix. Its says the patch is not required because the windows version has no limit of half open connection quantity.

That shouldn't be right.. You're running Win2008 no?

Well, then there is most defensibly a half open connection limit.
Although it could be that 2008 server has this limit removed, you should check with your provider!
edit:
If you are running SP2 there is no limit.
Check by going into the registry (if you can) and see if the value for this key is zero:
Code:
[B]HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\Tcpip\Parameters\EnableConnectionRateLimiting[/B]
Could also be that your proxy ports are getting blocked.
Run a portscan while posting to see what is happening there

Thanks For the reply, i checked my registry and dint find that value.
i guess there is some serious problem with this.

Hey, I am having the exact same problem with scrapebox, as described.
Have you found any solution for this ? Or anyone else?

Ive had trouble with anti-viruses blocking it in the past too so that might be worth checking too

I'm having exact same problem too :(..

I for me it is just that my connection is bad and drops and then scrapebox loses connection.

Not fully drops but I lose signal for several seconds which I presume is enough to dump out SB.

Im too . Before re-install OS some other days cause of some stupid reasons , my success rate is 40-60% , and now its only 5-15% >_____< .

i had a nagging problem like this for a few days on xp. here's what i did:

1) checked half open and set to 100 (didnt help)
2) ran winsockxp 1.2 (find the server2008 version, they must have it)
3) go to IE and set the tmp memory to 1024, also turn off images
4) go to download.c0m, download "pop up blocker" - thats the name. install + set it to "100% block).

this made my scrapebox go from running horrible thinking my IP's were bad (private, squid) and also scrapebox had a bug to the the program running so smoothly that i could run 2x of it on my computer without one hitch.

Try it and post back on how it goes.
