Guaranteed DMOZ, anyone try it?

thebacklinkbooster (DOT) com (I think by saying it this way wont be detectable by the owners or bots... Anyhow, they want $150 up front $150 on completion and claim to guarantee dmoz. Anyone try em, or have other recommendations?

Don't you think he will be able to offer that service?

They have the ability to add who they want.

Hard if they actually guaranteed DMOZ acceptance.
But what they're offering is a refund if you don't get into DMOZ.

So all they have to do is naturally submit your site. If you get in, then they make money for not doing much. If you don't, it's no loss to them because DMOZ submissions are easy (getting approved isn't).

Also, it can take for freaking ever to get approved, so I'm sure lots of companies/people will forget about the payment they made 3+ months ago and never ask for their money back. I highly doubt the company will send the money back out of their own volition.

I have been trying, and as you can see so many have been triyng for years. Maybe they have a special hookup, idk - I even cross analyzed the other sites in my niche and submtted based on a similar pattern, nothing. Anyhow, ill keep ya posted

I came across those guys via search and was interested in their DMOZ service. Have you had any luck?

Interesting enough, I came across an active thread in DP where some guy asked a question about DMOZ listing and wonder of wonders the same niche/category DMOZ editor replied citing reasons why his site wasn't approved and what he should do to get it approved, which eventually happened (Less than a week). Lucky SOB I must say.

Oh my god It is so simple to get listed! Just apply to become an editor. I have done it twice now. I might make an Ebook on how to do it and flog it for $$$ or something, there is a knack to getting accepted, but I can apply and be accepted within a couple of weeks and list my own site. There is a rejection pattern you follow and as long as you respond back in the right ways you get accepted.

Best tip for becoming an editor is choose a very uncommon niche.

I am editor and can accept all my sites. Like Verdox said, shouldnt take many weeks.

I might make an Ebook on how to do it and flog it for $$$ or something, there is a knack to getting accepted, but I can apply and be accepted within a couple of weeks and list my own site. There is a rejection pattern you follow and as long as you respond back in the right ways you get accepted.

On a serious note, isn't there a limit on the number of editors for a category? Just checked on a category of interest. There is no damn 'Become an Editor' button or link on the specified category.

Even highly popular niches have sub categories that have no editors, it is childs play to become an editor and list your own site. Research it, you have to apply in a very specific way and handle 3 or 4 rejections that you then respond to in a specific manner, it is not hard.

No but the trick is to find deep nested niche categories, for example i had a highly popular keyword so I found I had to dig down to that keyword but then a regional listing. The category was so buried I even had to build backlinks to it to get it picked up lol.

I will write an eBook on this when I get home later, I am decided If you follow an easy to follow pattern and use a template I will create you will get accepted as an editor.

P.S: I think I know what you mean. Did a bit of digging around and noticed a few sites that shouldn't be in a category being listed. I guess it works on the same principles of getting Wikipedia links to get stuck.

arghhh read what I wrote, that wont help, you wont get listed that way. Apply as an editor to that deep nested category I will write a full guide later when I get home, 8 mile bike ride first! Forget the Ebook I will post a full guide in this forum.

Here's some cool thoughts on DMOZ.

DMOZ.org (aka. Open Directory Project) is a corrupt web directory that controls the top three search engines Google, MSN, and Yahoo. Anything in the Open Directory, they consider important and these sites always spam to the top of search results. Anything not in DMOZ, they consider lower than the spammy viagra sites.
