i am confused. My ecommerce website.

Why is it that sometimes I rank 1st page for product keywords, lots of them and I get a lot of traffic, then sometimes I can never be found anywhere in Google for the same keywords, then about 1 month later I'm back ranking high again.. It seems to go back and forth back and forth between ranking high and low and usually I don't do anything in between to make it rank HIGH or LOW???????????:confused:

Could a competitor be doing this somehow? What is going on?

for google shopping results?

For seo, it'd usually be that your site lacks authority for the niche. Wait is it a blackhat site?

BH site rankings usually fluctuate as the sites are usually new

happened to me, happened to alot of people, survey other SEO forums and youll see that youre not alone

Google dance from what people tell me

Could it just be ranked differently in different Google databases?

Do you have enough backlinks? And also it could be because of how often you update your website or submit it to a social bookmark.

Not enough information to go on. There is always the brief first-page appearance when a page has just been indexed, but it goes away a couple of days later. I don't think you are referring to this.

If you have, say, a six month old page that ranks in the top 10 for months, then it vanishes completely, then it comes back to the top 10, then the duration of the absence will give a clue. You need a rank checker running daily to eliminate the human element, i.e. you could be checking only when new pages are making their brief appearances. There are also other times when the whole index gets a refresh.

BAck when I was strictly doing white hat seo, I lived and died by the dance. I was on numerous forums and everyone worried about the same thing..what's this Goog datacenter showing, what's that one indicating. Long before the jagger update when I got killed, rank was all that mattered and whenever there was a "dance" I'd watch my site bounce around and then eventually settle back to where it was.
I haven't bothered since I started making really great money doing bh so I'm not sure what's up with all that these days but if someone mentioned the google dance, it's still probably a factor.
