Whenever I make a post on my wordpress site, the post ALWAYS goes to the HOME page. I want to have option where I can choose which posts go on which pages.

So, every time I add a post, I can decide If I want the post to go on the home page, page 2, or page 3...etc.

Any way to do this?

What theme are you using? if its custom menu native, create a custom menu, and it will disable the automatic posting of posts to your menu bar.

im using heatmap pro v. 4. any ideas?

I use a WP plugin called "advanced-category-excluder" does exactly what you want. Then again I use thesis theme a lot now and that gives you more control over what posts where.

Will it work with heatmap pro v. 4?

You can use the schedule system for this.
Imagine you've got 3 posts on your homepage, if you want to create a new post and put it on page2 you just have to select the published date: 1 day before your 3rd homepage post...

Ok this is a good idea but i have also several other pages that i would like to add separate posts to. i would like an automated plugin that works and is easy to use so I can achieve this, not some long and hard manual process.

If I correctly understand the question I believe there is a straightforward solution:

Firstly, with regard to preventing post showing up on home page:

Go to Settings -> Reading

First item is: Front page displays
Choose the radio button labeled "A Static Page" and set it to the page you wish to show up on home page.

NOTE: the theme you are using may have a setting which would override or otherwise conflict with this setting.

As for choosing on which page the posts show up:

The only way I can think to do that is to have menu items ("pages) that display a category of pages/posts. Then assign the post you are writing to the corresponding category.

So, for example, if you write a review of Blue Buffalo cat food, and want it on your menu item (i.e. page) entitled "Cat Food Review" simply select cat food review (or other appropriate category) as the category for that Blue Buffalo review. Then when you post it it will display on that menu item (i.e. page displaying contents of a category).

I hope that is clear and addresses your concern.

EDIT: D'oh just noticed this post is over a year old. Thought it was from 3-11 of this year...
Hopefully it helps someone else...
