Ok Im new and i have projects

Hey folks I have been reading this forum for a couple of weeks and i found it full of all sorts of good information. As this is my first post I cannot pm anyone about anything.

Now here is what i need: I started a social network site a month ago and i need traffic, back links, and etc. So this is where i am at so far on my own site name is number 1 on first page of google results, alexa rank is at about 10 mil.


This site has taken most of my current disposable income along with that of my 2 other partners.

So that being said i do not have a lot of money but may be able to pay something reasonable. Also investment inquiries are welcom

As it is a Social Networking site. I think it will be better for you to start promoting your site on Social network.

If Your Site Offers some new features with more handsome look, I think, You can easily catch the eyes of People who always wants to taste something new happening around them everyday.

I mean all of this in the nicest way possible... (you spent a lot of money on this?! that sucks!)

• The design is not very professional
• The benefits of using your network are very unclear ("better than facebook" just isn't specific enough)
• You are publicly displaying on your homepage that you only have 253 members
• Drop the ads until you have someone to advertise to (leave ONE ad unit)
• On your homepage, front and center, is a giant graphic with the letters "BS" (looks like "bullsh*t" to me)

Speed-wise, you have a yslow score of "D" & pagespeed score of 76. This site is very slow for the quantity of info there.
Cometchat (not my fav) is probably one reason, and I would get rid of one of your analytics packages and just keep one of them (analytics can slow a site down a lot).

What framework is this using? It doesnt look like wordpress, joomla or dolphin to me (which would have been the obvious choices) Was this custom programmed?

The big issue here is that it looks like you havent given any thought as to why someone would want to join your website - what are you offering? - what is your community about? You should be explaining that on the home page.
Even facebook started with a much more focused audience (college students only) then grew into something big. Your community appears to have no purpose other than "I want to get rich like facebook"

You need to decide what the purpose is, then share your purpose with potential users

That just cracked me up, but not all that nice.

IMO, the site is somewhat professional but there's something missing.

I would drop the big graphics, it take a huge amount of real estate and doesn't provide anything. If this was a well know site, you could pull that off.

Ouch, sorry - that all came off much harsher than I meant for it to.

I see that you've made some adjustments - I think you are going in the right direction.

The "pages", "popular" and "users" widgets on the home page were good, and you should put those back up.

The one thing you really need is a text introduction on your homepage. Something compelling that will convince people they really want to join.
I see that there is a special user type for bands - so maybe you can use that as a selling point? something music related?

Anyway, since I stuck my foot in my mouth, I will help you out with the on-page seo stuff if you want.
