Wordpress questions

I started up a wordpress site but im still a little bit confused on a couple of things.

1. I am using the heatmap pro theme, version 4.02. I am wondering if it is possible that I can have different widget set-ups for different pages. For example, the home page has the widgets set up a certain way, then on the contact page, I have my widgets set up a totally different way. Right now every page is basically the same except the content. Any way I can do this?

2. Basically I want to FULLY build 2 pages with content and start getting ranked right away. Then on another page, I want to have an active blog where the content will be updated weekly. I'm wondering when I do the blog updates, will it keep screwing with my rankings on my fully built pages? This is probably a stupid question but I just want to make sure.

Not sure about Q1 but regarding Q2 it will simply mean more indexed pages.It won't harm your home page which I believe is your question.

Q1: You may be able to find a plugin that does what you're looking for, I haven't heard of it though. Other than that I don't think theres a way to do it unless you know how to program and edit the wordpress files.

It may be a "simple question" and it has an answer, but because of the second quote, it won't be "simple" for you. Doing this requires editing the code to allow for different widget layouts on different pages.

You're better off hiring someone to do it, or searching for a plug-in on Google.

The backend is much more optimized and search engine friendly than other themes available. Changing widget layouts becomes as easy as a few 'if' PHP statements with Thesis. Trust me, Thesis is the way to go for wordpress.

Ok,

Now all I need is:

1. A plugin that can arrange which widgets to show on which pages

and

2. A plugin that allows me to decide what page my next post goes to. right now it goes to the home page and gives me no other options besides that.

Anybody got some?
