Weird Article Rejection Reason by Ezine Articles - Google Farmer Update Fallout?

Hey Everybody,

I had submitted 3 articles to EZA a few days ago and I logged-in today to check their status. They were rejected, and the reason given read as follows:

"Your article does not include enough original and informative content"

This is the first time I have come across this particular reason for article rejection. Is it something new that they have come up with after the recent Google Farmer update or is it just something they used to do earlier as well?

My articles were all unique and grammatically correct.

I have never seen that before and I have written over 300 articles with them... seems like something new for sure.

I've never seen this before, either, after about 150+ articles with them. I'm not a power user but it definitely looks like it's the result of the Google slap. I'm sure, like before, it will also depend on which editor you get whether your article passes the inspection.

Great, EZA sucks even more now. I think EZA publishers should now expect more such moves in the future. I also came across this blog post by EZA CEO and it only means one thing- more troubles in using Bum marketing with EZA:

I had a feeling that would happen, it is obviously new. It is going to be harder to get an article accepted, and it will take longer to get it approved too.

If it takes longer and now harder to get articles approved, I think they as well would be the loser. They make money from the articles of other people. With time, people will start turning away from EZA and looking for other ways of promoting their websites. I think this is the beginning of the end of EZA.

It's happening more now than ever.

I have had it happen to me twice in the past before this "farmer" update from about the 1000 articles I submitted to the site.

I asked and back then was told that the articles were just saying the same things that my other posted articles were saying. In many respects they were right as some of the paragraphs used were essentially rehashed a bit or reworded.

I believe the site wants content that's unique compared to everything on the site. If you are going to be submitting in niches that already have thousands of articles, you could have a perfect article but still be rejected as they already have content covering that topic.

They are really cracking down in the top 7 'over-saturated' niches:

Penis Enlargement
Get Your Ex Back
Acai Berry
Reverse Cell Phone Lookup
Credit Card Debt Relief
Male Enhancement Pill
TV for PC

So if your articles are in any of these it's only going to much more difficult to get accepted.

I'm done with Ezine, too many problems and it takes wayyyyy tooooo long to get articles approved now.

I had this problem too, the minimum word count for Ezine is now 400+ words, are the articles under that?

I had a few articles around the 250 - 300 mark and I rewrote them to be above 400 words and they went through fine.

Try making sure that they're over 400 words

haha, I gave up on EZA a year ago... I cant really see much benefit from it, never got much direct traffic from them, and now their backlinks don't even mean much, and they expect us to beg for the privilege of giving them unique content so that they can monetize it... it's a joke... Just load your articles into AMR and blast them everywhere and move on... I'm glad they got google slapped!

ezine articles is more than useless now.for seo purpose its just 1 link from them is enuf,no matter how many articles u submit.The main reason for ezine submission was getting traffic,however with recent update they lost big amount of traffic and thus not as effective as before to get traffic.you guys better start looking for new solution rather than writing 800 words unique article for them so that they make money from your hard work.

They have 70 full time staff and the way they are going they will be luckly to have 7..They are doing this to everyone now. If they do this to you do not waste your time rewriting your articles..this is their way of trying to get your best content.. which should be going on your site and not their MFA site. What I do is this if the articles are rejected with this message I just take it off and put it up elsewhere.. it's a waste of time to try and get an article up there for so much effort amd sp little return when you could be getting your own sites ranked instead.. and by the way they have a new membership level called diamond for their best writers.. which you have to apply for. This is another way of them trying to get your best content. Don't fall for this crap..

I've had a gut full of ezine , so whats a good alternative for SEO purposes, by that I mean submitting your best articles , not spun crap that you plug into AMR. Whats articlesbase like ??

They are never coming back since they were never indirectly affected by the algo change. They, along with the rest of the unfortunate similar bunch, were manually yanked out of the high ranks.

No need to bother with a complicated programming conditional when you can make a list of 20 or so domains and prevent them from occupying the top spots.

The update targeted the more obscure content farms and was made to coincide with getting rid of the obvious ones.

Unless EZA somehow gets pardoned (which I very much doubt as there are no such precedents after other major updates), it's a waste of time to try to conform to rules which are not guaranteed to change anything.

No. They got pwned because they're a shitty content farm full of cheap shitty meaningless content that people crank out just to get backlinks. Writing was on the wall for a long time.

I manage about 10 authors accounts for ezinearticles, all near perfect (and native) english speakers.

Never had any issues in the past, and now articles are getting rejected multiple times for issues such as "not using paragraphs" when they clearly are, and spelling and grammar, when there are no issues, and no spell check, and their spell check finds no issues.
I asked them to explain exactly how they would re-word one of the "incorrect" sentences, and their correction was EXACTLY the same as how it was already written, not even a comma out of place.

It's all really pathetic.

If the editors are going to be incompetent the EDITORS should at least do some helpful/any EDITING, not just reject 3 times when they don't like the wording of one sentence and offer no helpful advice.

If they're worried about losing traffic, then rejecting everything and having no new content will certainly lose them more traffic. If they add nofollow, then theyre going to lose probably 50%+ of their authors.

Looking at moving from ezine articles on to someone else since their staff are now completely incompetent and rejecting, expecting some ultra professional pulitzer prize winning level of article.
Please provide some suggestions. Go Articles, or someone? Our hundreds of articles don't deserve to be on EZA, and if not on another article site, we should keep them on our own sites.
