How is it PR4?

PR4 Domain with 7 PR0 backlinks and only 3 of them are dofllow. Please tell me if I am missing something, how is that possible?

Well, first, how old is the domain?

Also, the PR could be fake or inherited. For example, I made a website back in 2008. The domain for that site is now a PR3. In 2010, I picked up a couple 2012 apocalypse type domains in the event someone wanted to buy them in 2012. I parked them at my site I made in 2008, so they inherited the PR of that domain. They have no backlinks and are less than a year old, but if you do a PR check, they return PR3.

The domain is 3 years old. Wouldn't it need to have a link pointing to it from a parent site with high rank to inherit its PR? As far as I can tell it's not fake, since every PR checker I tried is reporting it as PR4. Even the ones that claim to detect fake PR.

go to google and type info:domain.com and see if the result is the same site or not.
If it's another site that shows, it's fake PR, if it's the same site then we have a mistery

What people do is pump and dump.

They point lots of high pr links to the site. When the pr update goes through the pr updates to the correct pr AT THAT TIME. Then what they do is remove all the links and try to sell the site as if it were a real pr 4 domain. In reality, it is not a pr 4 domain, its probably pr 0. Remember, pr only updates ONCE per year.

How do you know that it has loads of backlinks? I checked many different backlinks checkers and they all reported 7-9 external backlinks with PR0.

That said have I seen PR4 sites, with only a few backlinks but the sites are like 10+ old.

Like I said, this one is only 3 years old. I'm not buying it. I'm just curious that's all. Well I'm suspecting some new invisible factor that google uses to rank sites. That's
basically why I'm asking.

probably have a domain with a load of backlinks to it with a 301 redirect to the domain in question

Did you check the backlinks with and with out www infront of domain name? I used get different results in YSE for that. So it may have more back links with or with out www . If its still only 7 links, then its really a mystery.
