I think quality control on that sort of system would be a nightmare. Wouldn't be long before it was just full of people offering up the shittiest content anyone will publish in exchange for a link to their shitty site from a shitty blog.

Seeking out an authoritative blog and offering them awesome content kicks ass though.

No matter how many shitty backlinks you obtain with blackhat methods, you will never rank for very competitive keywords.

Unless your goal is to build 1000 mini websites, each making 10$ per month, and paying 10k yearly just on domain registration not to mention all the headache that comes from managing 1k websites, you need to build better websites.

In order to do that, you need in the mix some very good quality links as well, coming from highly trusted websites. You will never get those with blackhat software or auto generated content. Even if you try to pay for them, good websites are not going to link to shitty websites, while most good websites do not accept paid links at all.

I do not know why some people have the feeling here that blackhat = shitty websites.

Most of the reputable companies that are now worth millions of dollars, built their empire using blackhat techniques.

Youtube.com -- used the DMCA loophole and uploaded copyright material in order to attract viewers to their website. When they got big, they removed the copyright material.

rapidshare.com -- used to give free accounts and rapidshare points (which were sold for money) to large warez posters, in exchange for posting the movies, games, etc.. using rapidshare links.

zynga, and it's empire of farmville and other games -- spamming facebook like crazy in the beginning, before facebook started putting all these conditions and starting to close in the loopholes.

Squidoo, hubpages, ezine articles, articlebase? Hello, search engine spam heaven, and do follow links for marketers. You can not pretend they did not know what was going on. Not to mention scraping other people's content and posting it on their website as "some other users" posted it --> i am talking about articlebase here.

Friendfinder? AFF? Match.com? and other dating websites? -- all of them did email spam and fake profiles. Now they are multi million dollars corporations.

to sum it all up: Start Blackhat. Finish Whitehat.

i could say NNNIiice . Bet this will give new innovation for lots of people to find new sources for links. +1

Yep, start blackhat and turn white...
Set up an autoblog and start paying for articles once the money starts flowing.

Great post Nick, time to dust of those old youtube accounts

I think in their algo change they also factored in for page speed more now.. (or at least that has been my experience). As when they announced the change one of my sites webt from having 10k uv a day over the next 3 days to over 30k uv a day, crashing my server.. I upgraded to a dedicated (took about 48 hours after all said and done) and then I was back to the 10k uv a day (My crash and my site speed for those 48 hours was slow/non existant many times).

I heard that google algorithm change is not finished and they will do much more soon lol
what do you think of it people?
