There are forums where even though you can leave your URL in your profile, it can't be seen without logging in.

Are these profiles still good backlinks or not? And is it meaningful to do SB blasts to these profile pages or just a waste of time?

And what about those forums where the member page can be seen, but you have to click on another tab (like Contact Info) to see the backlink (for example forums.spry . com)? Should I bother SB blasting those?

Thanks!

Well, there are plenty of topics about this subject.

Anyway, don't believe the ones who say that it doesn't matter and the G will index the profile anyway. That's not true: it depends by how the webmaster compiled the robots.txt file of his site.

And if the webmaster of a forum was bothered to set the profiles to private, there's a good chance that he also excluded the forum profiles from indexing in search engines through the robots.txt (I think there could be an option to do this directly in the backend of some forums, but I don't manage any so I don't know for sure).

It's got nothing to do with whether or not the forum admin was "bothered", its a default setting on almost all forums that you can't view a persons profile unless you are signed up and logged into the forums. This often doesn't seem to affect Robots though.

Its Utter waste of time and resources if you blast to forum profiles which can be viewed only when logged in. No Profile = No Backlink!

You don't need to bother to blast on profiles which displays your backlink in tabs. Thats good.
