The title says it all really.

Today I've been following quite heavily.. well have been doing for for a few weeks, but tonight (after having some dutch courage with my mate Peroni) upped it to 1025 ... and Twitter is accepting it.

So; I'm wondering if anybody else has experienced a higher than the assumed 1000 daily following limit?

yea, on my personal account (56k+)
around 1.5k

i assume the limit depends on quite a few things: following:follower rate, how many follower you get daily and if its a good number in twitter's book the following limit may go over 1k

Yeah I'm kinda assuming the same thing.

So you're saying you can do 1,500 follow per day without any problem?

I get about 300 new followers per day, so it does make sense that the 1,000 cap would be lifted for me.

what's your delay set to?

Actually... it's 5-11 when I click the follow/unfollow button. If I leave it automatic (I use Tweet Adder) then we're talking 1 every 1-2 minutes... around 40 per hour.

But I do often step in when I'm at the computer and follow 500 at a time, that's why I go over the 1000.

so far

i'm following the maximum limit (which fluctuates between 1k and 1.5k) since 5 months now w/o tweeting anything spammy (1 tweet/reply/RT 2 regular tweets per week at most), unfollowing all people who don't follow me back in 5 days (it's also in the 1k range per day) and my account is still doing well, i never follow back anybody
at first i got 200-300 followers per day, now i'm getting 400-500

following 46k, followers 56k

We might be able to help each other...

I unfollow people who don't follow back within 2-3 days... I sometimes change it 2 (from 3) if I'm at the computer and manually want to unfollow more) - I think 5 is too long (imo) especially if it's an aged account.

If I leave it totally automated then it's this:
Follow... ratio 1.1 to 1 (this would mean if I have 10,000 followers, it will stop around 11,000 followers).

Unfollow I get to around 1.05 ... so there is often plenty of room for the auto follow to run.

As for tweeting, I only repeat tweet things that I feel worthy - which is the latest headlines I get through to publish on my autoblog.

I also never 'follow back' people after the account has gone past 2000 followers (this is for the benefit of new accounts).

I hope that helps.

yea, 5 days can be too much, but i have a pretty good following:follower ratio & plenty of room to follow the max limit per day, so it's not that important

what program are you guys using?

Tweet Adder.

The only downside is that if it's left to automate the follow/unfollow isn't actioned as much as I'd like... I prefer seconds as opposed to minutes.

Tweet Attacks seems far more UN-user friendly, but I think once it's loaded with the right commands it'll run fine, I just need to perhaps break away from Tweet Adder once the account is 'aged' so the follow/unfollow can be much more often.

BUT: I can seriously see the benefit of having like something daft... 100 Twitter accounts following and unfollowing with Tweet Adder.. as it'll run them all absolutely fine.

I always use the max limit for TweetAttacks for my aged accounts and they can follow more than 1000 a day. And yeah, I think the number of followers you have and accounts activity is a huge factor.

Im also suspecting that the 1000 limit is for normal API calls only but since TweetAdder and TweetAttacks is using the web interface, they have different limitations. I never tried it in other API apps though so I can confirm this right now.

Whats the Difference between API and Web? Do I need to Setup Web for Tweetattacks Manually or Tweetattacks automatically has that setup?? Sometime My tweetattacks has error with "Twitter API" or something similar to that.. How to resolve this Issue??

&

How to Setup Proxies for Tweetattacks??? I can't see any option given in Tweetattacks to set proxies per account..

Any Help or suggestion would be appreciated.
Thanks..

tweetattacks doesn't use the API (not even the free version), so you don't have to setup anything manually

i'm not sure about this API error you mentioned, erroronline14 certainly can tell you more about how to resolve it
you can try restarting the app and see what happens, twitter regularly makes changes and so does the tweetattacks developer team, so it can be that some of the functions are not working properly until you don't install the latest updates (which is set to automatic whenever you start the app)

the free version doesn't support proxies, paid ones do

Anybody know what timezone Twitter uses?

The reason I ask because I followed about 1400 yesterday evening (UK times) and today after just 300 follows it's say that the Twitter follow limit has been reached... nowhere near the 1.1:1 ratio, so I can only assume, that it's stll the same day in Twitter World going off their time.

Unless they have decided to lower my following daily count.

I currently have over 9000 followers and I'm following around 9200.

i don't think if it matters what timezone they use, their headquarter is in San Francisco, CA (PST: GMT -8 hrs)

you can follow ~1k people (or a few hundred more) in a 24 hrs period, it's independent from timezones, actually this period is around 22 hours in my experience: if you follow 1k people at 3pm GMT, on the following day you can follow another 1k at 1pm GMT

haven't you hit the API limit somehow other than following?

No I think API is 100 calls per hour and there's no way I've reached that.

I'll try again later this evening.

Don't u guys get hit by the Rate Limits?

Q1) what are the best keywords to get a lot of followers

I got with the sugessted "a source:socialoomph" only ~20% followers ?

Q2) is it better to follow with a own rate* 0.9 -1 or (close to the limit +10%) 1-1,1
for the last speaks It seems that the >10k tweeps have a rate* 1-1,1

tip: socialOOMPH AUTOfollowers
