I started a website that is actually ranking decently but there is a lot I want to do with it and I cannot seem to be able to figure out to do what I want with xsitepro but I know I can do it with wordpress.

Is there anyway to move it over and not lose the ranking I have?

move it over? you moving to different url?

Just add wordpress to a subdirectory or sub domain of the site.

I want to get away from xsitepro all together and move everyting to a wordpress site. but I dont want to lose my rankings

Yes.

- Make a backup of all files and of your database.
- create a new database
- delete all xsitepro files
- upload wordpress and then navigate to the index page and go through the install process
- go into phpmyadmin and copy and paste all the data from the xsitepro tables into the wordpress dashboard backend into the appropriate places
- once you have your pages set up in wordpress, change the permalinks to match the old xsitepro pages and that should solve your SEO concern.

Hope this helps.

Thanks so much! what is phpadmin though?

xsite pro has just been a pain the last 6 months I have been going to wordpress also,

I've got WordPress sites and XSitePro sites and I have to say that it is definitely my XSitePro sites that rank best. As you said in your post, your XSitePro site is ranking well, which you should be pleased with. As they say, if it ain't broke don't fix it :)

It doesn't matter what software you use you'll always run into troubles from time to time. That is just the challenge of technology, but there's always solutions too.

The thing I love about XSitePro is that so many of the things are just right-click and it is done (e.g. inserting clickbank products, adsense ads, and stuff) whereas that kind of thing takes me a lot longer with Wordpress even with the dozens of plugins I've had to install.

Which version of XSitePro are you on?

If you let me know what you are struggling with on XSitePro I will see if I can help you out.

It's an administration tool for your mysql database. You should be able to log into it from your cpanel or web hosting backend. I'd be very surprised if you didn't have it.

It's fairly easy to use.

Copying and pasting your ad code into wordpress takes a long time? Seriously?

Sure can, I've just found XSitePro overall to be much better to work with, it certainly the website design software that makes my website building a whole lot simpler and faster.

Yeah XSitePro is really awsome, I used this and it took me less time in making my website...its really fast and easy...

is there anyway on xsitepro to have someone contact you and enter their email address or leave comments?

these are the 2 things that i need and cant seem to figure it out on xsitepro.

I like xsitepro better, i know it fairly well but I really need to be able to do the above

Hi there, I use a combination of XSitePro and XCommentPro software so that my website has a nicely integrated comments system.

XCommentPro is a comment script software and is a neat little tool that lets you easily design and customize your own comments system for your site.

It's compatible with XSitePro, and makes adding one of your comment systems from XCommentPro as simple as right-clicking in the design window and adding a pre-designed comment box from XCommentPro.

Would highly recommend XCommentPro if you're serious about setting this all up, and getting even more out of XSitePro.

Hi again, just thought you might like to know that you can add contact boxes like email addresses and such using the Forms Wizard in XSitePro.

I still highly recommend XCommentPro which will set up a perfect comment system for you, which can then be brought into XSitePro easily by right-clicking in the page designer and selecting "Insert Comments".

Hope that helps!

I have managed to switch it all over, but how do I get the permalinks to change?

In xsitepro they were Title.html

get Smart 404 plugin which should re-direct urls automatically to the nearest match. Also change any backlinks to the new urls, webmaster tools will tell you which backlinks need changing in Crawl Errors. Urls can also be re-directed in the htaccess file.
