301 Redirect advice

If i buy an aged domain and set up a basic site, then build hundreds of backlinks to it then do a 301 redirect to my main whitehat money site would this be of any benefit or would it be flagged by Google.

I dont care about the temp site and domain getting sandboxed but will there be any consequences for my main site.

I am confused why don't you use the aged domain as your site and just blast it ?
