Hi, SEO newbie here! I've done a lot of reading on this site recently and have finally decided to take action and create a site. I have done keyword research and I believe that with some good SEO I will be able to get some good results.

My first question is, which domain name should I choose? I am going to make my page uk based, however, all the .co.uk domains for my keyword are taken. There are a few decent domains available: (for example's sake, let my keyword be "apple pie uk")

applespieuk * info
applespieuk * org
apple-pie-uk * info
apple-pie-uk * org
apple-pie * org * uk

EDIT: a couple more that I didn't realise were available before:

apple-pie-uk * net
apple-pie-uk * org * uk

Notice the "s" after apples in the first two. Which one of these would be best? Thanks in advance.

Go with apple-pie * org * uk because is from uk. Stay away from .info they are harder to rank even Google says that all domains are equal

apple-pie * org * uk looks the best to me as well.

or add a letter or word like this and get the .co.uk

apple-pies *co*uk or apple-pieonline *co*uk

don't get .info hard to rank :)

I've actually just found another possibility for a domain name; I don't know how I missed it before. The new one is

apple-pie-uk * net

Would that one be better than

apple-pie * org * uk
or
apple-pie-uk * org * uk? (I didn't include this first of all because it looks a bit spammy to me, but it could be worth it I guess)

Sorry about this and thanks to those who have already replied.

Dot Info's are not harder to rank. Where are you people getting your facts from? If it's from your own experience, please learn a bit more about SEO before spouting nonsense. I speak from the experience of someone who has a lot of .infos, .coms, .nets and .orgs. Numerous tests have been conducted and the .infos are just as easy to rank as the rest of them.

Since the exact match is taken with all of them I would just go with one that has a - or something like applepieukblog.com or whatever.

I agree with Talwin - it doesn't matter the domain name. what matters is the content!
