Article submission or Web 2.0?

Hi all,

Right now i have about 10 Tumblr, 10 Wordpress and 10 Blogger blogs going, where i submit 30 different stories to, i then use Delcious and Digg to bookmark all of the posts.

Is this a reasonable strategy? I also submit some more spun articles to article directories, but frankly it takes forever, and i'm really not sure if there is much point in wasting my time doing that when i could just be making more web 2.0 properties, but i'm not 100% that these are worth it either.

Can someone shed a little light please?

You are doing the right stuff, but you need some automation software to
make it a lot easier.

So are you suggesting more Web 2.0? Is that ok with being my main focus? If i pump on web 2.0 and only submit maybe 4-5 articles per 100 or so Web 2.0 posts? Does that sound like something that would work to you?

Both are good.
Anyway, keep in mind that you need variety. Having 10 backlinks from 1 properties pointing to one website isnt strong as having 10 backlinks from 10 different properties.

The fact that they are 30 separate blogs doesn't factor? If like 10 of each are on the same domain even if they are different blogs?

This is what I do:
* manually bookmarking all my pages to 50-100 Web 2.0
* manually posting spun articles to 50 auto approve articles sites (save all links)
* manually posting articles to top 10 article sites (save links when approved)
* manually adding my site to 250 directories
* manually creating 50 profiles with ******** link to my site
* manually creating 100 forum profiles to my pages
* auto bookmarking using xGen saved links

So, it is not just about Web 2.0 or article, do both... do everything you know

Do you have a list of the 50 auto approve article sites?

Also how long does it take for you to see results and what kind of results in a low competition keyword would you expect? Like number 1 in a month? Using those strategies.

Just my opinion, but I like to use a wide variety of backlink sources evenly rather than focus down on just a few. The reason being, for example in your case, what if Google decides tomorrow to devalue links from free blog services...you would be up sh^t creek.

The same is true for someone who only relies on article submissions for backlinks if Google decided to suddenly devalue all links from free article directories.

That's why I try to keep my backlinking efforts spread out across numerous sources, so that any Google-slaps that come along won't be so devastating for me. I'd rather hit a speedbump than go over a cliff.

@ronmojohny gave good advice, get some software to automate the processes and it will make it just as easy to spread out your backlinks as you currently have it using just free blogs.

It helps but its no efficient. The key is to get backlinks from different ips. Search engines wants different IPs. An example is to avoid people who has 100 websites in one shared hosting to easily dominate the search engine. Thats why some people prefer to order dedicated ip when creating websites for future SEO purposes.

If you believe in and want to focus on web2.0's, then thats the right path to take for you. Follow what feels right for you. I feel it is more effective (and fun) to submit to and maintain various web2.0's than article sites, but it is good to throw in some quality article sites in the mix for variety. And Housemusic has it right about the different ip's. You can sort of 'bypass' this by adding web2.0 links to your web2.0's. For example, Squidoo--->Hubpages--->Squidoo--->YourSite.

at the moment im doing articles through spun articles like 1500 sites to the main article and like 1500 profiles to the main article which both go back to the home page, but i have 3 main articles as 3 urls per profile

web 2, web3, web 4, article submissions, profile links, scrapebox blasts, whatever you can throw at your sites don't rely on one kind of backlins only - it might work, but it would probably take much longer

Thanks for all the advice guys, much appreciated. I'm starting to make some headway. I'm at 30th for the KW currently, which i wasn't in the top 100 for 2 days ago. Going to keep up with mainly Web 2.0 and blog/forum commenting, and see where that takes me. The site in question also got a mention on the MSNBC Tech blog, so that's one hell of a strong link right there, noticed a jump in a lot of kw, i just wish they'd have waited for the google dance to settle so i could see the true impact that link might have had, bastards, lol

Yes, that is the power of a link network. The web20's that are linking to your web20's will funnel juice towards your main site. Keep building levels (or tiers as it is sometimes called) to multiply the power.

Regardless of web 2.0 or article sites...i look for sites that build my property as an extension of the current site...domain/yourpage instead of yourpage.domain - remember subdomains are treated as new domains..sub pages are treated as an extension of the root...my ezine articles always score PR because PR leaks in from the other pages...that and people scrape the articles for their site =)
