Google, you have some explaining to do!

First time Ive heard of this, this might not concern everyone but if your into Google places local marketing, the IP / browser might have to do with weather your getting the phone verification or post, interesting to test. Even though it is said there no phone verification right now at all, Ive actually gotten that option a couple of times now but it seemed just random.

This might be a stupid question, but I have to ask. Did you disable "customizations based on search activity" in your browser?

Didn't see a setting like that in IE or google.com

Try the following site to get a more accurate ranking for your sites. Searches are not based on past search terms, search history, IP address etc. and the site claims access logs are deleted within 48 hours.

Looks like everything is back to normal and it was just a google hiccup. Ranking is restored and no longer having those issues on my US VPS. PHEW!

Just go to google.com and do a search for your KW, then click on option (blue icon next to "sign in") at the top right corner, you will see Web History settings in there.

I'm not blind but I just don't see what you're talking about. I know where the settings (gear icon) is but nothing within the settings about web history.

Enter any keyword and search google. On the top right click on the gear icon and choose "web history" and disable it if it's enabled. I just tried it..

It's not enabled... never was. Still getting the same search results across different browsers.
