NEED HELP!! :( Lost Rankings

I had stuff like this happen to me and only time will fix it. One of my sites just went thru the same thing and took about a month to Google dance back to position. If you were building links before the switch continue to do so, when my site returned and got stable it was higher in ranks because I keep the heat on.

I wasnt building links earlier... it was on autopilot... didnt do much backlinking earlier either... but now i did a little bit.... google deindexed around 100,000 pages from my site and now its indexing more... dunno whats going on

One way to get Google to ditch their cache and start over is via a sitemap ("sitemap.xml")

Use the form that allows you to list the last update date. Set a common date for all your files that's well after the date of the Google cache, then notify Google of the new sitemap.

My sitemap does not contain Tag pages links... so there is no point of that.. anyways google is now gradually taking a new image of my site in its cache... the rank is dancing and traffic is increasing as i have mentioned earlier... anyways i have submitted the sitemap again too :)

I recently changed the theme on my site and got punished for it big time! the new theme caused some 403 (missing "js" directory) and my ranking has ever since dropped dramatically for a bunch of keywords, some by 600 positions! I reverted back to the old one asap and put a 301 in place for the missing links, but the damage is done and my rankings are terrible since a week now. Webmaster tools is still showing me the crawl error, even though "fetch as a bot" checks out perfectly. I suppose I will be seeing shitty resultsfor the time being...This really sucks since I started to see nice Adsense results before the incident.

"only" 35,000 pages, wow, sill impressive size of "web property"!

lol dude.. from 500,000 to 35,000 ... i dun find it impressive :p ... i came down from $80-$90 a day to $21 a day

Yeah, if u see it that way...didn't know the numbers behind it :-( I guess we loose the dependency on the employer for revenue, but gain another master who can sh.. on us anytime. made me realize how fragile this business model is. well, if you f...around with your site ;-)

yup i agree

This is because the new algorithm update in Jan 26. A lot of sites suffered a sudden drop. I have this theory this happens because excessive naked affiliate links and little content in between.
