What does this guy mean by submitting duplicate articles to ezine?

After going through nearly 4 months of frustration with Google?s G Bot, I finally got indexed on 02/09/2007 for the second time. When I first started this blog, I made the mistake of submitting duplicate articles to Ezine. To do such a thing is against Google?s TOS, because of duplicate content issues. They dropped my site from the index, and even after deleting the Ezine articles, it took around 2 months for Google to ?favor? my site again.

anything can get you sandboxed imo...especially if google suspects your a spam site

You should never submit to ezine before getting indexed on your own site.. (not sure if you did this or not).. Basically, I think Google determines duplicate content by the first indexed version. (correct me if I'm wrong).

But that's not to say ezinearticles won't outrank you.

Just stating that I don't think it's the dup content issue.. Probably other issues and sandbox filters put in place.

I've been doing articles for a few months, and pretty much the common wisdom is to be sure to put your article on your site first. Even allow it a week or so to settle in.

And its probably best - although it can be a pain - to rewrite the same article before submitting it to directories. Just make sure you tag it right so it comes back to your site.

If you are re-writing other peoples articles make sure to do a massive re-write, or the search engines will pick up on similarities to earlier published articles.

Doing the article thing to drive traffic back to your site isn't as fast and easy as it was a couple of years ago. But one thing seems pretty much for certain now; Quality Matters, put that mantra where you can see it. And follow it
