OK - Here Goes

I used this guide and found what I think is a good keyword.

1 - did google keyword tool search with exact match for broad keyword EX - Weight Loss
2 - sorted by Estimated AVG CPC
3 - this keyword has an Estimated AVG CPC of $19.69
4 - click on keyword and put the search in quotes - 29,600 results
5 - added &start=990 to the seearch string - 48 pages
6 - search using intitle - 3100 results
7 - search using inurl - 1910 results
8 - search using inurl & intitle - 1340 results
9 - Traffic Travis returned these results for the top 20

Is this a keyword that I should go for?

Pretty good keyword.

You can rank if you have good on page SEO + you get a few decent content related links.

I doubt you could rank with out off page SEO (backlinks) since the keyword pays alot per click and also all the sites that are on first page are pretty much all aged with lots of links.


Only way you can find out is to test.

Buy an exact keyword domain and then put a few articles, do on page SEO and then buy a xrumer blast and wait 1 month to see ranking. Then act accordingly.

At least when you try it out for yourself you will get experiences and a feel for what is a good keyword next time around

I am continuing to search - what about that keyword would need to be different for it to be even better?

if that keyword is in a subdomain - EX - thiskeyword.majornichekeyword.com - would that make a difference - better or worse?

If you had a few more 0 age domains and 0 PR domains in the top 10 (ignore the page 2). And also a few domains ranking with fewer links.

You can use Market Samurai but it can be slowwww at times and brings too much detailed results.

TT is just fine as it does exactly what MS does just on a smaller scale and much faster.

Other then TT I only use google and put the keywords in "quote" intitle, inurl, intitle + inurl and &start+990.
