I just got a $100 google adwords giftcard.

So I get the mail today, got a letter from google about my adsense account. They gave me another Google Adwords $100 giftcard. That is pretty cool I guess but the side of the letter was cut open with a nice portion of the paper ripped off like someone was peaking inside. Someone at the post office stole my adwords coupon code I bet.. :lame: What should I d o about this, should I call google? I don't really plan on using the coupon but I also don't want someone else stealing my stuff & selling it / using it for themselves.. could this jeopordize my account if they use the promotion code for blackhat purposes?

I don't think it can effect your account at all. They most likely just send the giftcard out, and don't really associate the code on the giftcard with your account.

A lot of people steal the codes from inside books at book stores, etc..so this isn't really something new. I know there was a thread informing people how to get free codes from inside books at bookstores. It goes against my ethics, but idc, its not my website/business, its theirs.

If you're terribly concerned about your account, I would contact Google, just to be safe. I think your fine though.

It is just a random gift card that you are getting!

It is no way related to your account

And, a Coupon cannot be used for any blackhat purposes! All it can do is to add some funds to the account, and account is what is used to Blackhat or whatever they want to do with it!

In the end, you just lost $100 of Adwords advertising, and there is no shit continuing with it!

Shouldn't be worried about Google caring but you should worry about your mail...?

I would probably bring that to the post office and report that your mail is being tampered with...

That would kinda piss me off a bit more.

I think mail tampering is a federal crime and you should probably tell the post office someone stole property intended to you en route

For one of my day jobs, I send out and receive hundreds of pieces of mail every week.

The window envelopes are notorious for getting caught in the USPS machinery and ripping. It is nothing new, and nothing to worry about. Your carrier would not jeopardize his or her job over a coupon from google.

Do to the amount of mail I send and receive I have made friends with my postal carrier and have spoken with the Postmaster for various reasons, and they all say the same thing.

Its just one of those things.

If your still worried about your coupon, log into your G account and use the coupon, if it accepted, then you are golden.
