Hey guys,

I'm setting up a site to generate leads for dentists in my area. Does anyone know a resource where i can find out how much each lead is worth to the dentist? I'm trying to make a pricing chart and dont know where to start. :/

Thanks,

Hey OP, are you basically ranking a site for "dentist/city" or are the leads more targeted than that? The reason I ask is it can depend based on what type of leads you are providing. A general lead will probably be worth less than a lead for a particular type of service, like root canals. You may find it easier to just rent the site to one dentist for a flat monthly fee, but that's just me. My father-in-law is a dentist. I'll ask him your question and see if he gives me a number (assuming you are providing general leads).

Good luck.

Damn that was a fast response! Haha. But yeah the leads are fairly general I've done exactly what you said and am ranked #1 for my combo of dentist/city. The lead collection page I made in gforms covers the basic info and at the bottom asks for a brief definition of dental needs. Is it worthwhile to setup separate rates based on what the lead needs treatment for? And that's great that your father-in-law is a dentist because I just want to see whats the right ball park.

Thanks in advance.

Don't mean to thread jack but I have the same question for accountants. Get people looking for an accountant at least once a day, but I don't know what to charge for my leads. Almost all accountants have sites now so it's hard to rent it.

According to this banking site,
Code:
hxxp://www.ukbusinessforums.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=40752

Anywhere from $80-160 per lead

how are you going to sell the leads?

how are you going to sell the leads?

I am going to collect the information via a form, create invoice for # of leads per month in freshbooks and collect! its neat how the form I made automatically will forward the info directly to the dentists inbox as it is filled out. All of this of course is defined in a paper contract :) Is that what you were looking for?

yes, thank You.

I have a couple dentist sites in the hills areas of cali. Beverly, Sherman not them of course.
they have the # 1 spots and I need to do something to have them start paying back for the effort I've put in.

are you using your own form or did you buy from somewhere?

I'm using wpleadsengine and gforms. My business partner has unlimited domain license(WPleadgen) and the dev support key(gforms). The reason we decided on the dev key was for the freshbooks addon which will hopefully streamline the process down the road :)

You could also use an 800 number with call capture capability. The prospect would call in, enter their department (ext number) and be transferred to the right department. You would get an email notification of the call.

Or you could offer a special report and get them to leave their name and mailing address. You would already have their phone number (even if they tried to block it). Then you could sell the lead like that.

You could just call them. Say "Hi we're doing research for xyz business people's association, and we're curious how much a dentist earns per client on average."

Call 10 dentist nearby. You're done.

OP: I talked w/my father-in-law, who is a US dentist, about what he charges for services. He said the typical semi-annual cleaning costs $100, veneers and crowns start at $1,000 and more complex stuff like root canals can go for $2,000 or more depending on the work involved.

I hope that helps.

One thought: why not just rent the site to a local dentist for $XXXX per month? Forward all calls and inquiries the site receives to the dentist and forget trying to price out leads.

@TeenieGenie: How would I go about getting the best value for my site? Would the best approach be to contact say 10 local dentists and see which is willing to pay more? or just decide on a price and see if i have any takers.

Thanks youve helped so much.

When I rent out my sites to local businesses I try to make it as easy as possible for them to make money on the rental. This means I don't get top dollar but I'm doing this as a second source of income besides my "day job", so I don't care. For a dentist site I would look at anywhere from $750 to $2,000 a month depending on where you live, but there are others that will want more. Make it easy for the dentist to start renting from you. Do a month-to-month contract (nothing long term) and don't ask for money up front. Let the site speak for itself. You'll come off more legitimate that way and have a much easier time renting the site out.

I have a few ways to hook a business for my rentals. One way is to just call one at random and explain to him/her that you have a site generating leads and you would like to forward all calls/inquiries to their office until you find someone to rent it out. Of course, they'll say yes (who doesn't want free leads, right?) and then they'll immediately say after that "I would be interested in renting it from you when you are ready. You then say "great, it should be ready in 5-7 days. You wait 5-7 days and sign them up.

You could also look at what dentists are already trying to advertise online, especially with Adwords. Dentists who are trying adwords will appreciate what you are offering better than other dentists.

The key is to speak to the dentist. One way is to speak with the receptionist. Use the approach I explained above about sending free leads to the dentist until you are "ready" to rent the site out and the dentist will usually call back. If you are able to schedule a face-to-face meeting, keep it short (10 mins max) and quickly explain what you're doing. They'll either want the site or be done with you by then.

You are offering a valuable service, so be confident and don't be afraid to fail!!

Good luck!

i just built a dentist site. my first attempt at this. waiting on it to rank. i hired a guy to backlink for me. kinda expensive. would you mind sharing your strategies for ranking first page.

my onpage seo is up to par according to bloggerhigh. its a free alternative to seopressor

and also are you above google places?

My personal advice is to simply rent out your site to the dentist (or whatever profession), and put a 302 redirect. With a 302 redirect, anyone that comes to your website will automatically be redirected to the dentists website. Now, if the dentist does not have a website, well hey; great way to make some more money. Offer them to design a website for their practice.

Oh, and keep in mind, the reason I say a 302 redirect is that it does not pass on any link juice to the other domain. On the other hand, a 301 redirect DOES pass on link juice, which is why we would not use a 301 redirect.
