im on dhcp and still its not working..

Do this to find out if you have a static or a dynamic IP.

If you know how to find your IP address, then note it down, else Type Cmd in Windows Run box and in the command window, type ipconfig and press enter.

Now you should get your ip address.

Disconnect your internet modem / router or whatever you use it to connect to the internet.

Again a couple of minutes later, connect to the internet and check your IP address. If there is a change, its dynamic else its static IP.
