If you are successfully signing up to and confirming emails from the directories then I would hesitate to think that Gmail is the reason for your issue (though I'd recommend using an address from your own domain).
With that said, AMR was recently forced to do a premature update due to issues with the captcha system. The last 'forced' update by AMR is to version 1.0.8.3 and it had major issues. You need to manually update to the last version 1.0.8.6
I'm not sure if this is the issue that is causing your live links dilemma but it seems more likely than gmail causing your problem (assuming you are successfully signging up and confirming emails with gmail.)
1 - Get hosting. Hostgator have a penny for a month deal (first month only), and there are others that you can get a full years hosting for pretty cheap. Not the best hosting, but it would work for what you want it to do.
2 - Buy a throw away .info domain for < $1 from godaddy.
3 - Set up an email account from your new domain.
4 - Sign up and get thousands of live accounts.
Total cost - Less than $1 for the 1st month.![]()
