I have heard that Big G can detect spun articles ? is this true ? Tomorrow i will take action and begin on my first website, so real unique content is the way to go or spin ?
Thanks

Google can't detect shit. Sites with rubbish content rank on top positions every day. If you spin your articles properly you will be doing just fine.
Make sure to replace entire phrases so that the number of words is not always the same for all spinned versions.

first you spin the articles, both words and phrases, then you use a spun article on your site

HI... It is a fact that the G algorithm nowadays is catching hold of spun content. I know clients who have had their sites pushed back suddenly, because they focused on spun content. However, when compared to copied content, spun is better.

Spun articles can be unique depending upon the spinner / the way of spinning (uniqueness %) but Spun articles won't help you in SEO in the long term. Why?

Suppose, You use spun articles, make tons of links, rank #1 for a keyword. Now visitors come to your site and they leave in 5-10 seconds because the content sucks and its unreadable. So the user experience is "Bad"

Now google can see that and hence de-rank you. Quality contest is expensive sure but in the long run, it'll be must less costly:)

Hope that sheds some light on the stuff.

Cheers,

HH:)

So spinned articles are good for building backlinks but not for your own site?

Hey whats up guys. It is very easy to match a spun article with its source content, so we shouldent rule out that Google just punishes people because they can see the spun article and the source article as one and the same.

That's because to most people, spinning = changing synonyms.

There numerous ways to change how unique your spun articles will be. How unique you want them to be depends on what you're using them for.

I have always had great results from classifying my content into 2 categories:

1. Content for rankings
2. Content for links

If I want my content to rank and do well, I spend a little extra time spinning. If it's content for links, I don't really spend too much time on it. One final thing I have always seen good results from is making sure my content is readable; even spun content. I never used to do this, but after I started, I noticed significant increases in acceptance, click thru rates, conversions, etc.

what % should be the uniqueness of the spun article for ranking??

I have never used spun content on my own sites, only on web 2.0. If it's at least 50% unique, you are good. Think about it, when there is a buzz about a topic, many bloggers will write about it and use similar phrases, references, etc, and they wont be penalized. It's natural.

I like to have 4 or 5 well-written unique articles on a new site to start and then, after my site is indexed, I use spun articles. I make sure the articles are spun sufficiently so they pass copyscape but they still have to be human-readable if I'm going to put them on my site. I haven't had any problems getting any of the articles, either unique or spun, indexed.

Good luck on your first site!

by passing copyscape you mean that there is nothing traceable from your article at all correct? i mean even 10% isn't passing?

Spun content should be used only if you are using web2.0 blog platforms for backinking purposes, and if only to save time. I know what a pain it is to dream up fresh, unique content. On your site, I would consider rewriting content rather than spinning. Just think IYOW. (In Your Own Words). Break the content down by sentences, and rewrite the sentences IYOW. So...

I found a great ebook about weight loss that really has been showing results.

Turns into:

If you take losing weight seriously, I have found a great book that I've been using to shed lots of weight!

That quick rewrite took me less time to type than to pick through a bunch of synonyms from a list, re-reading to see if it makes any sense, and polishing the output of the spin so it reads right. I love spinning, but for sites that I really care about, rewriting is the way to go.

if you want to see some results, place the original article on your site, than spin every sentence at least 3 times, spin words inside sentences, but not keywords. miss some sentences randomly, just to get more unique articles with less same number of words/sentences. separate sentences with different new lines randomly.

now, your web 2.0 should not have only one post, make it more natural with several linked posts without backlinks, and several with backlinks. use pictures, videos, place gadgets, and you'll have serious blogs that will not be considered as spam by google neither by moderators. if you update them occasionally they even might get some PR so their backlinks will be even stronger.

this will bring you great results. it is a lot of job if you are doing it manually, so do it only if you are sure you have good money making site. otherwise it's just waste of time.

good luck.

Spin article is not unique if some already spin your article with the same tool. If you try to spin an article from ezine, I assume most of the time your spin article is duplicated.

It depends on how much effort you want to put into your spinning. Like Yuki mentioned, I like to keep my articles separate--articles for ranking, articles for my actual site. ALL of my site's articles are unique or rewritten completely by hand. This is easy for me to do because I am a native English speaker and am very good at writing. I understand this isn't as easy for everyone so your mileage may vary.

For my backlinks, I write a single new unique article for each keyword I'm targeting and spin the bejeezus out of it. I spin paragraphs, sentences, and words first. I add optional paragraphs and sentences and words second... and then I spin those. I also mix it up and add optional line breaks and such (I'm not convinced this helps, but it doesn't take any extra effort so I do it anyways).

In the end, I can pull off about a 80-90% unique rate for all of the spun articles. It takes a hell of a lot of time, but (again, in my experience) Google can't believe it's not butter  It ranks well at least. All of my spun content is readable (i.e., not auto replaced).
