My 1000th post and some lessons I've learned

I'm glad you put this post up. i have also lost money on projects/deals, but sometimes we have to be prepared to pay for our education. When we've got some experience under our belt we will also have the knowledge and ability to go out and make it big.;)

I agree with you in that we must have faith in this game and that we must always focus and keep our sight on the business, not the method... I've had partners ran away with the funds and people doubting me too. Just as long as I keep myself focused on my outcome, I'm sure I'll be there one day!! :) Great Post!!

You actually bring up a very valid point that I didn't mention: being focused on your outcome - that's essential. If you don't know where you are going/where you want to get to, you are far more likely to fail.

I was thinking about learning photoshop. But this changed my mind quickly. Now if only i could find a designer.....

i really appreciate posts like this, especially when self-doubt sets in. you, cyrus virus and ericson have all helped me in a big way even though you dont know it.

thanks for the great post. It's always a great inspiration to see people who once noob (like I am) move up to be a guru then look back and share some insights.
I will get there some day :beerchug:

Great Post MH, my 2cents is when you have the info you need from BHW fuck off and do some work. :ebay:

I'm certainly no guru - I learn a lot of new things every day. There's a lot of different ways to make IM work for you, so it's quite unique in that people with basically any skills can make a very good living online.

I wuld just like to ask-

DO YOU SPEND CREDIT CARD MONEY ON ADWORDS ?

Yes, although we have the cash in the bank to cover it anyway. PPC isn't our main thing but we still spend around $6000 a month on already profitable campaigns.

I cannot see how its done?

IT looks to me like a lottery whereby you are competing with other Adwords advertisers and then you havea another hurdle where the ad clicker decides to actually buy the product whatever!

Great post, as I can recognize myself in a lot of those :)
1 is something I'm having problems with, as well as 5 :)

9 and 10 are lifesavers. Thanks for this, I needed this piece of hardcore motivation and inspiration :)

The trick is to find a niche where there are no other advertisers and you get 5c clicks all day :)

It's not as easy as simply "taking action". Sometimes things don't work out and even if you make money, you might feel discouraged when you invested x10 the amount (I'm projecting fyi).

Meathead's post is right. I really should stop being so lazy and get to work, even If I'm dead tired. I should also stop trying to learn 50 things at once and just go with I find easiest. Anyway I'd just like to thank Meathead for the great post. Thank you Meathead.

That's right. You can't expect everything to work perfectly first time - it rarely does. The key is to recognise projects that have potential and those that have run their course where it's time to move on (flip it!).

Once you do get a winner, work hard on it! Don't just settle for $100 a day - scale it up! You never know how many winners you are going to have. As long as the winners outweigh the losers you will be in profit (both short and long-term).

Also remember that things take time. Don't expect to rank on page 1 in 2 weeks. Don't expect your new PPC campaign to make 500% ROI without testing. It can happen, but more often than not it won't.
